Reflections are almost identical on canvas of engineering,Law,hotel mgmt.and othr instts.
With huge flow of educatd youngs finding no way in competitive world, except to stream in any of such programmes with hope to become slave[ by deviating from traditional business/trade of the faimly- so happily extnding fee to deposit huge sums against which, the aspirants are not sure even to bring back the salary after completion of the programme eqvivallant to bank interest rate]yet the lot is extracted and hav to confidence to become enterpreneure so as to creat/generate job opportunities for tens than to be inconfident as one of the ten jobbed slaves.By the time those slaves open their eyes, their traditional business riches goes to dump as out of few family members ,normally traditional business lies un-looked after ,sold-off , uncared ,unenthusiastically sick, loosing credit and customrs. Thus these type of schooling are also a causative factor for breaking family norms/dimishing traditional values of students coming from traditional business families who finding no further helping hand in business -tend to shut down the work. This is happening in middile level business and small factory/industry owners .

IIPM ads are funny
by Derry Varghese on Feb 04, 2011 08:04 PM

Using filmstars to promote an educational institution, wait a minute he's also written a couple of books....'count your chickens before they hatch'....or something like that...has anyone actually read it??? Man...one must appreciate his dressing sense....like a multi colored parrot.....guess he thinks it gets him noticed....'any publicity is good publicity'. IIPM may be a good institution....but he's trying to sell seats with his hogwash.

Rethinking MBAs - Need of the day
by Raja Srinivasan on Feb 04, 2011 08:02 PM  | Hide replies

The singular change/alternative to make the MBA meaningful/attractive in today's highly competitive/challenging environment is to reorient the emphasis to tilt more towards "INTEGRATIVE THINKING" - a fusion of territories associated with "Liberal Arts" in Management.

To put it simply :

What the schools have been saying so long is "You've got a great idea. Here's how you build a business of it".

What the schools should say now is, "Here's how you get to the great idea." This will mark a pronounced shift/astounding transformation and be a new "PARADIGM" in Management Education.

Anything new attracts. When all ideas have become stale - as made out in the above article - the one and only useful way to simultaneously improving the skills and attracting students may prove to be this.

So much for now.

MBA - A Big Farce
by Siddarth Banik on Feb 04, 2011 07:09 PM

MBA education has become a big farce nowadays. Look at IIPM..they can't even think of an original name and owner looks more of a wannabe bollywood producer than some B School allumni. Just a waste of time. No wonder CAs and Cost Accountants get more value in job selection than even the best of MBA graduates. Wake UP
