Keep it up
by Shahriar Sethna on Feb 24, 2011 03:17 AM

I think this is exactly what our community needs. A nice clean image and a portrayal of the underlying beauty in our ethnicity. Good work !! And yes Mr. Firoz Kotwal, (the indian 65 yr old who wants to brings this out of circulation) I am willing to pay for your treatment with any psychiatrist of your choice. :)

IT IS TIME PARSI COMMUNITY SHOULD CHANGE THEIR VISION!
by KAWAS MISTRY on Feb 19, 2011 12:18 AM

In my personal opinion there is nothing wrong with the pictures published in 2011 Parsi Calender. Pictures are no way inappropriate or sending any negative message for Parsi community. Instead it is a performing art to represent in a proper form of the beauty what Parsi community have in the so called modern society. It is high time one has to change their narrow vision and try to learn admire beautiful things around on a broader perspective. It is time Parsis need to bring drastic change to their years old ideology and move ahead with the modern time, otherwise the community will diminish at a pretty fast pace of time. Let the present Parsi youth take control of the community and bring CHANGE in the society. Make and create as a whole the Parsi Society for better place in the world to live.

Surprising
by Prashanth DSouza on Feb 10, 2011 03:01 PM  | Hide replies

It is surprising to see loads of comments about parsis being refugees and immigrants etc. Causes me to wonder how india would treat foreign immigrants when the economy starts doing well and people start coming to india.

On another note, it is centuries since Parsis came to India, and were welcomed here. They don't need to be reminded every now and then that they are immigrants. Once we live in independent India, we're all Indians, enough said. By the same yardstick of immigration, Aryans in India could be also reminded that they have migrated to India at some point of time, although there are theories that there was an outbound migration...which is not proved yet.

So many beautiful Parsi ladies and still "some" people crib about them being so called immigrants, which according to me is quite dumb to say as they're quite respectful and hard-working people. And in the end,it's what you do by which people know you,and so far the community is WAY above our other religions in all senses. This, coming from a Hindu chap who has to compete with so-called "minority" in every sphere of life.Kudos to the Parsis and in the end, very very HOT ladies !And i mean really HOT ! :P

Fantastic calendar
by Dinshaw Avari on Feb 08, 2011 11:12 AM

Lovely calendar. As everyone is freely expressing their opinion, let me add too (& I am conservative in my nature & religious though) that I think its Very tastefully done; there's no "exploitation" of anything; and I am proud that our Zarthostis produced this. Everyone's entitled to their opinion as are our mobeds, but I don't believe there's anything wrong or anti-religious or anything like that. Congrats on a good & clean production. Dinshaw B. Avari (Karachi)

AGREE WITH THE MOBEDS
by Dinshaw Patel on Feb 07, 2011 10:41 PM

I do concur with the MOBEDS in their objections for the 2011 colander. We Parsis have produced many an artist, literati, scientist, etc. to fill the 12 pages than to produce a calendar that exploits human sexuality.
By way of analogy, we follow Zoroaster for his teachings and absolutely not for his features. The typical pictures of him that hangs in most of the Agiaris and our homes have depicted an obese, ugly, pompous looking and an unkempt baboon. Hence, let’s not superficially place emphasis on sheer looks.
The orthodox mobeds are correct for a change!
