One major attraction(?) of coimbatore is its astronomical auto charges. Yes for going next road you have to pay 100 something by auto. If you are helpless victim they will charge even 200. No wonder it has promptly comeup in the list!!!

Flats/Appartments vs Land
by Anand sodo on Dec 21, 2011 12:21 AM

I have read some messages on this Board by members who seem to be totally ill-informed or have only learnt to be Misled and to Misleed!
Flats/Appartments are equally good investment as any piece of Land - In the case of Land there are many Pitfallls similarly in the case of Flats too there are some Pitfalls - if one is carefull enough he will earn Equally well from any of these investments.
As for the cities concerned - for everyone - The nearest major city - is the Most Imortant city!!

Why did they not mention Ambala City and Ambala Cantt ? The twin cities which form the heart of North India.
Huge railway station with 18 platforms, nice bus stand. The city though lacks an airport but I think if an agreement is reached, the air force station could be used as a domestic airport as well, especially during summer vacations when faujis are generally on leave.

Lastly, Ambala City particularly is also famous for the cloth market (supposed to be the largest cloth market in Asia). I heard property is cheaper in London when compared to the cloth market in Ambala.
Ambala surely is on its way to progress.
All the best Ambala (Lastly, I heard that Rafa Nadal is coming to Ambala to inaugurate the tennis academy in the Govt. Polytechnic Hostel Grounds). Well done indeed.

Only if you r going to live in house or apartment buy.If u buy for the sake of invetment you will curse yourself later.
Investing in land for value appreciation is ok.

I think it is better investment option than Stock market provided you put your money with the right builder at the right place. I got an appreciation of above 100 within 4 years for my flat in Cochin. Cochin is not yet one among the hottest real estate city. I have invested in share market as well and hence my views are not biased.

Try selling your flat and see whether you can actually get to lay your hands on the 100 % appreciation !!

You will end up a lot more sober if you try !!

According to the Kerala builders' association, there are more than 18000 completed flats remaining unsold for more than a year in Cochin. And the no. of flats under construction where work stopped long ago is even more !!

In and around Kakkanad alone, there are 11000 flats remaining unsold despite the best efforts of greedy builders to pawn them off to the gullible middle class !

What do all these numbers signify except that the 'values' and 'prices' bandied about by the commoners are just castles in the air ??

Don't buy flats in Cochin... in recent studies, it is found that Cochin is an earthquake prone area.

Hottest Real State cities list, 3 rd no. is of Indore
by ajay bajpai on Dec 20, 2011 06:14 PM

It is a fact that Indore is growing withleaps and bounds also the educational and Medical hub in central india but the Town ships have come in the city are there for the last one decade and still starving for the customers although the investment has been made by 20-30 % but they are almost deserted .
May be after TCS- INFOSYS setup in 2-3 years the picture may change.
But today the picture is very dismal if you ask to an investor.
