No personal interviews.
Govt must provide employment to BC/SC/ST/Minority youth based on written exam.
Our political party will do this.

Nehruvian Policy
by Praveen Goud on Oct 08, 2010 08:34 PM

We need both quality primary and higher education. Sibal, is trying to commit same blunder like Nehru who prefered to concentrate only on Higher education neglecting Primay education for which India suffered a lot.

With no proper foundation during primary eduation, students will be forced to ROTE as happened before. Higher education and copying US model is GOOD and would be welcome step for US universities to start universities in India itself.

If UK is good and concentraing only in undergraduate curricullum, why don't India encourage or invite UK to start their universities too?. Would be better to outsource primary education to UK universities to counter balance IT and BPO outsourcing to India.

US does not have ANY RESERVATIONS either in Education OR Employment - unlike your much touted RTE which is nothing but Reservations and Quotas once again.

Instead spend time improving Sarkari Schools, do not ride back for free on private schools.

Slow and sweet poisioning

It is a shame that Mr. Sibal expects Indian education system to be same as that in US. In Indian government at the moment we have many ministers including PM, His Highness Rahul Gandhi who have had higher education abroad. These people without using commonsense will blindly adopt the system they see overseas. Mr Sibal is one of them who lacks maturity and understading of ground reality. This is nothing but poisioning the nation by western culture. Food, clothing, housing, education and health are fundamental requirements. Our earlier education system that had exams was best in the world. However with the help of UPA government, western countries are taking control of the infrastructure. These ministers should be expelled from the country.

Of the all we should go the US way. The countries who's President has been re-iterating that Indian school education systems needs to be applied in US to bring there pupils at par to compete us. Its our foundation thats makes us stand aprat from rest of the world. And this HRD minister is just on ruining business...

Legacy of British Education
by Kausik Banerjee on Oct 08, 2010 04:10 PM  | Hide replies

We are carrying the colonial hangover. Though I believe if we can take the "rote" part away then our education at school level is world class - CBSE new class 10 papers set for Sept. exam have stressed more on concepts but less on memory. President Obama has mentioned abt. Bangalore & Beijing standards recently whereas we are trying to ape them. However it is no doubt at University level US education is truly outstanding, the quality of research papers etc. are testimony of that.Indian higher education system has been marred by politics and deliberately target by all Cong. BJP,Left. Prof. qualities are also poor standards as they are busy in politics rather than teaching.

You are very right. Our fundamental education is very good. We are week only in higher education. Higher education of the country needs to be strengthen. Many brighter students at higher secondary and under graduate levels are not reaching to higher education like post graduate and rsearch. The condition of the research is very poor. It is just copy cat system, research in India is pursued to get the degree of Ph.D. for to be illigible to get lecturer ship post in the colleges and universities. That's where our higher education is being broken by these lecturers who pursued their research with having mentality of getting Ph.D. degree. Many research scholars who awarded Ph.D. from the reputed universities do not have scholarly output in International peer-review journals. That's level of our research of our country.
