his books are interesting no doubt but to some extent all these books are overhyped.actually this is a problem evey where publishers go on giving publicty to certain authors for commercial gains.
if you want to read really good books I am recoomending here six books which I have read recently.these books are little costly but once you start reading it you will forget chetan bhagat atleast for the time being.the books are: 1.escape from singapore by brig.jasbir singh 2.my years in a pakistani prison by kishorilal sharma 3.three thousand miles to freedom by brig.m.m.pillai 4. burma to japan with azad hind (a war memoir 1941-1945)by air commodore r.s.benegal
5.wings of joy by air marshal a.v.vaidya
6.main pakistan me bharat ka jasoos tha by mohan lal bhaskar. the first five books are published by lancer publications and the sixth one is in hindi and published by rajkamal prakashan.
all these books are unputdownable and mush better that chetan bhagat staff.after reading this books you will also feel as a proud indian and that is the extra advantage.

Folks- Many ( always some exceptions) comments I have seen in these sections ( not just this article)are mean, cheap, intolerant and sometime vulgar. Folks- please apply restrian. It just gives brings to the surface how deeply divided community we Indians are.
This is a public forum. Please criticize constructively and also try to learn from criticism

??? What is the point of saying this here? The article is about Chetan Bhagat. It is not analysing Rajiv's assassination, or the ethnicity of the person who did it. What is the purpose of making this irrelevant comment? I have lived in Tamilnadu, and have connections with the South. So are you expecting me to jump up and heap abuses on non-Tamils? People like you seriously need to get their heads examined. No wonder our country lags behind so much. It is infested with caste, religion, community and regional loyalties.
I never read any book of him. saw evryone going mad after this writer. Thought to read his latest flick-2 states. I read. Now it is lying in the dustbin.

H e is just telling what he had done. He thinks that he is successful in his life..but he is at his half way mark... So, the guys who had arranged marriage are stupids in his opinion??

Not a great book but thoroughly readable and enjoyable nonetheless. Chetan Bhagat, no doubt, is immensely popular.

You are right. I would rank him on par with R.K.Narayan. Better than Arundhati Roy. That book had entertainment value.

Chetan Bhagat? On par with RK Narayan!! Have you read Narayan's work and Bhagat's work? You are comparing a molehill to a mountain.

Yes, he is a great writer with very lucid style of writing. And yes his background is definitely great with IIT and IIM background. He was an investment banker before he quit his job to chase his passion. Please don't try to bring down everyone, give credit where ever due.
