The title of the first book in reference list is wrong. It must be CLASSICAL MECHANICS by Goldstein

Good stuff ! and great to know that the Govt of India gives a scholarship of Rs.8000 per month to M.Tech students in leading universities. Hope the students give back much more to the society and the country reaps the benefit.

so? do u measure everything in terms of money ? Pity your kids

The place he will get to and the recognition he will get when he winds up his career if he continues in this path might be something that will set high standards for our future generation.

Some people set out on research and invention that is more noble and might bring them money, laurels later. Dont run behind instant money. thats so kiddish..

The top score of gate is 99.9, thats the score of the rank holder and 99.8 for the 2nd rank holder and so on. which means there were 222 candidates ahead of Ishan.

Percentile score is calculated based on the number of candidates appeared for the test. In Ishan's case, 5578 candidates appeared for the exam and he topped. So his score would be (5577/5578)*100 = 99.982. GATE for engineering subjects have more number of candidates (above 10,000 in most of the subjects), so the topper will have a score of 99.99.
