Natural food has enough salt..
by pragathi on Apr 08, 2010 07:20 PM

Natural food has enough salt. If daily taken, leafy vegetables are more than enough.
A naturopathy suggested to use greens dried or raw in place of salt so that the BP diabetic related problems can be minimized.

Our body is made of natural biochemicals. So better to eat natural food and be naturally healthy.

Other factors decide the health of a person whioch is another lengthy story.

Indian food habits: root cause
by Aadi Manav on Mar 25, 2010 11:42 AM  | Hide replies

it is full of Ghee, oil, spices, salt, fried items. Moreover there is a habit of forcing people to eat extra otherwise its regarded as insult of the host.
It does not matter whether your are vegeterian or non-vegeterian.What matters the most is how the food is prepared and the ingredients being used.
This should be the ideal breakup of food
leafy,green Vegetables & fruits : 70%
whole grains(bread/chapati/paratha/roti/rice) : 15%
Proteins(soya,fish,egg,milk,paneer):10%
fat(red meat/egg yolk/butter,ghee/cheese): only 5%

In addition to this daily exercise, brisk walf for atleast 30 minutes daily, sleep for minimum 7 hours at night and more important above all is right attitude towards self and others. It shoudl not involve competition, hatred, jelousy, quarel, debate, conspiracy at home or at workplace. It also affects your health.

Stess is amajor factor trigering Heart Attacks
by Rahul Singh on Mar 25, 2010 10:32 AM  | Hide replies

Most of the Jobs, specially Sales is quite demanding and taxing where one chases the targets. There is constant pressure from the bosses. Often the routine goes for a toss. You often skip meals and bing on junk food often to satiate the hunger. Further, there is no exercises. Some start the day as early as 7 am only to return at 11 or at times mid-night. This continues. If a person is a smoker and boozer then it is sone pe suhagar. In many companies there are weekend parties which take a big toll. A tyoical sales men, whos life style is described above is most vulnerable and becomes a victim of heart attack.

Such Jobs are no doubt paying but one ends up as a loser since all major ailments will start messing ones life and play a havoc. Money is no doubt esential, but one should learn to draw a line. God has given one life. You don`t know what will be your next birth. So why become a slave of money. Let us treat it as a means rather than treating it as the end. Peer pressure, unhealthy competition and hoard to amass lot of wealth in a short span of time are the factors which is taking a big toll on the youngsters.

Surpising to see that the article did not talk about harm created by salt. Though sodium is required to our body, we give sodium chloride which is harmful not only to the heart but to whole body.

This is the most dumb statement ever hear, Sodium Chloride is a essential mineral our body requires else we will face dehydration.
Heart pumping is based on the electrical impulses created by our food and our entire nervous system depends on these electric discharge including brain. If minerals are not consumed the whole system will collapse.
Myth: Iodised Salt helps brain and memory cells.
Fact: Iodine vaporises at room temperature.

Get out of all these myths and start consuming normal food, but do justice to your body by skipping rope on grass surface and brisk walking.
If you cannot dedicate 1 hour for your body then you dont deserve a healthy body.

Any thing taken in moderation or prescribed limit is harmless. That includes common salt NaCl which when consumed in excess than the prescribed limit leads to swelling and water retention causing High Blood Pressure.

Mohammed, I think you missed the point what Ramana said and just jumped into conclusion that he is dumb. What he means to say is high consumption of salt is bad. By the way the" normal food" as you say by Indian standards if quite high in Salt by any global standards. This is the mian reason Indians are prone to Cardio vasular diseases when compared to the rest of the world eventhough we consume lower animal food. Salt is the main reason for Blood pressure and this harms both the heart and the Kidneys.
