Father'Day
by Subhendra on Jun 15, 2010 02:14 PM  | Hide replies

In India we never forget our parents from our birth to death. It is the western society who follows animals and forget their parents when they learn to feed themselves. They require a day to be with their parents and celebrate and let them look after their needs for the rest 364 days. Where is the need for Father's Day when we celebrate our happiness,sorrows together every moment,every second?

Wake up! Indians have wholeheartedly embraced the Xian Western culture. Anybody who debates this bracketed as a bigot.

We have parents day after their death
by Marathi Indian on Jun 15, 2010 02:09 PM

We celebrate the fathers or mothers day after they die i.e. the annual Shradhha.
as per India culture we have to take care of parents till they die and not on a single day in a year as per the foreign culture.

Anything that is foreign, including Valentine's Day, is relevant to Indians. They have lost pride and self-respect over 1,000 years of slavery.

Why r u referring Indians as 'they'? r u not Indian? This is the tragedy for us and things like Fathers Day/Mothers Day prosper here!!!

Not relevant in most part of the India. but for those who find solace in following what happens in western world probably Yes. You can not ignore globalization but at the same time you should revisit some of the old school of thoughts.

Globalisation does not mean Global-nonsense. We need to differentiate between Western culture & modern one.

Pick up only good in every culture like
- Once you enter through an automatic door, please look whether anyone is coming
- give a smile even to strangers;
- respect individual because they are another individual irrespective of their status, power etc.
- Abide traffic regulations

we have been taught right from childhood as MATHA - PITHA GURU - DEIVAM which says that follow the footsteps of father and mother and be a deciple of Guru then ultimately you will realize God is with us.Be affectionate to your parent and let us celebrate father day and mother day daily.
