Not sure about your nuts, but you would need to have real guts to ride on a bicycle, on Bangalore roads. Heavy vehicle drivers (including car and cab drivers) just don't care about bikers here. The story in other cities might probably be the same.

Not really true. In 2 years of riding, I get more respect on my cycle than I ever did on motorbikes, cars. And this includes the BMTC guys!

Hmmm, the Indian Postal Service should've had a really tough time recruiting, in that case! Thats a very common mis-perception.
CYCLING IS OK ... ONLY IF UR YOUNG AND SUCCESSFUL ... FOR COMMON INDIAN MAN ... HE MUST USE BIKES / CARS ... AS HE IS GOING TO DIE AS COMMON MAN ONLY ....

Its typical Indian Mentality to think about Motor bikes & Cars. In the heavy populated countries like China & Japan, people use cycles majorly. Thats why people there r more healthy n fit.
as mentioned below.. there are some practical probs of cycling.. the dust and pollution on roads can ruin health and skin on a long term.. could end up with more probs for solving one even bikes are just buumped off by bigger vehicles.. cycles are like a nuisance to them.. climate not suitable for most part oft the year if ur going to work .. probably need a change of clothing companies should have some green rewards system for employees coming by cycle.. surely more will sign up.. there is some social stigma as well if seen on a cycle.. many avoid cycling due to this..

Try it out, and you'll soon see the reality about many of those myths. Bangalore has a 1000 "choice" riders already, so the stigma's gone.
I ama techie with Satyam blore, and i want to cycle, but the point is that no girl(and blore has the best looking ones) would look at you if you are in a cycle. I use my avenger to work, and am sure that creates a lot more impression among the blore crowd. Even if i own a 10000 worth bicycle, end of the day, its only a cycle, and no one would even look at us. Thats explains why in college campuses and IT companies, you rarely see bicycles, only bikes, activas and the odd car

cycle or bike does not matter, some one should not be in love with your bike, but with you,you will get the right person, your intentions should be honest and sincere..

If you get a girl because of your Car.. then she may leave you when you loose that Car..so try to get a girl when you are in a cycle..:)
