Domestic violence can never be just written off, however much eveyone wishes to. There are many complex and multifaceted reasons behind domestic violence:- firstly SEX is a necessity for ALL males while it is not so with females - more than 50% of whom take sex as a 'DUTY' and a very few take it as a Luxury(means to attain). Being Educated - is the next cause - Being Educated does not necessarily mean 'COMPATIBLITY' rather it creates wider differences, specially so, with friends and family members chipping in with their remote advice!While the actual persons dealing with and suffering from are WITH each other(the stress and strain) most of the time. Human beings always forget that 'OTHERS' (Mom, Dad,Brothers, Relatives,Friends..)can only get one married or divorced - The"COUPLE is the only one who can 'SUSTAIN' the marriage - the more the advisors the more the Problems!!! The male brain is more 'analytical and reasoning' while a female brain is more 'Abstract and Wishing' And ofcourse to add to all the woes is the 'MODERNITY'- BOTH Males and Females do not have the time nor the Inclination to be 'SYMBIOTIC' each wants 'MORE' from the other while giving nothing in return!!! Keeping all these points in view - Domestic Violence is a part and parcel of every Couples life - at least in the Indian Context(I havent travelled abroad much so i can not comment about them). Girls already in marriage/committed relationships talk to any guy on trains,buses,in office..roam around with any guy saying "He is my pal !"......go to pubs with guys/colleagues and drink,smoke,clap together,laugh out loud shamelessly.

If you have not seen it does not mean it does not happen. I have seen married women having affairs and going to a rooem in hotel together after office hours and before the woman going to her house without the husband being aware. In todays world it is very common. What you can say is that all women are not like that.

To a point you are correct Moral Brigade,Yes B/F husbands etc like to be in control, and thay think that if a girl laughs while talking to some one then surely she is having an affair with him and is two timing. These men don't think about themselves as they do the same. A girl who is free in talking to some one or goes to a pub/restaurant with a college does not always mean she is two timing. GROW UP MEN.

True to a extent but have u been put on a post of article writing or journalism or u r making everyone aware that MEN ARE NOT GROWN via ur NGO, lady if u r pointing a finger towards anyone remember & remember 4 fingers of ur same hand is pointing towards u.
When I used bad words for one boy infront of her and warned him. After he was gone my gf slapped me for using bad words. BUT THAT WAS NOT PHYSICALL ABUSE. She slapped me to behave in a decent manner. I got no problem with her. hehehhhehehe she is nice and caring.
