Job Interview issue
by Ramanarao Kallepally on Dec 29, 2014 07:56 PM

In India there are so many job portals and openings (Print this message), but one thing should remember that let the candidate fares well, even though, he will not be selected in the company where he was interviewed because some one of the board of directors or in selection committee will be influenced by the candidates appearing for interview, this has become common phenomena now-a-days, hence, for attending interview is just eye wash but nothing more. Every thing depends upon the luck of the candidate's performance in the interview only.

Approaches
by Sandhurst Rhode on Dec 03, 2014 03:27 PM

"Right" approaches to questions 2 and 3 are not all that "right"!

Question 2 ..... These days, it is risky to "offer either a completely unrelated weakness which wouldn't have an impact on the role you have applied for or present one of your strengths as weaknesses. " because people have worn out the tactic of presenting one of their strengths as weaknesses and "unrelated weakness" can sometimes open a different and more damaging can of worms for your candidacy. The right approach is to present a gap in your qualifications or skill set as your weakness when responding to this question and more importantly, presenting a viable and realistic way of how you will fill this gap either through extra training or by giving extra time to address it! You can also use this approach in answering question 5.

Question 3 ..... "Find an answer to this question in recent past and highlight the personal qualities you needed to achieve it. " Wrong! Answer this question with an example of a task you completed in the past successfully which closely matches the most critical job description item from the job posting or the reason for hiring a person in the position you are interviewing for! To seal the deal on this question show some excitement when you recount how you identified the problem; how you considered the alternatives and how you chose the right alternative which panned out to be the right one because of your diligence and talent!

If go through a consultant close to HR..your selection get easy!
by rinky khanna on Dec 29, 2010 02:50 PM  | Hide replies

it my personal experience. I had tried several times in a NOIDA based company through employee referal and company website site, but never got a call. I got selected through a particular consultant. Who claims that 50% of the staff is through him only.Something fishy between HR and Job Consultant.
