there is this new breed of "educated" lot who have allowed themselves to be "reeducated", through hogwash pop-religion, in sanatan dharma. These neo-evangelists believe that sex is a "paap";even doing it beyond a certain point becomes so...agreed that sex is the be all and end all of marriage, but it is still a very critical aspect of our emotional well being. i think some of our "learned" friends use such cliched arguments based on differences between human and animals...i pity their education

Marriage and Sex life
by satishgs on Aug 27, 2010 12:56 PM  | Hide replies

The article does not take into account the Indian view/ Hindu way of life, sex is just one part of the marriage pact and not necessarily every thing. Love, care and respect for each other, mutual sacrifice for the welfare of the family and children are most important aspects and sex may not be the primary attraction between husband and wife.

If husband and wife or with other extra marital relationships are encouraged like westerners, then what is the difference between human and animals?

The above atricle "Marraige & Sex life" is just rubbish, totally agree to Satish comments,I must say that the article is horrible where sex is prioritized over other important aspects of married life.

Regards,

Noorul.

But the same hindu culture prevents one from having premarital sex. In those days, when they used to get married by 20-21 it was perfectly acceptable. But at the present age and day of life, one gets to some decent settlement in life only at around 27-28.

Sex is one of the vital aspects of ones healthy life, apart from good diet, excercise and proper sleep. Now tell me, who%

When u talk abt premarital Sex , you are not essentially talking about Sex but you are talking about Marriage instituion...
And every institution has its own rules and boundries...Hindu culture is no exception for that...

"If husband and wife or with other extra marital relationships are encouraged like westerners, then what is the difference between human and animals"

let people decide for themselves and make choices that appear right for them. I personally wouldnt want me or my wife to go have sex outside marraige, but i think if there are people who can look at their sexual and emotional (and other) needs seperately somewhat, maybe they are taking a more matured stance.

Far as i know in PRACTICAL TERMS(not idealistic theory bound terms) the indian /hindu/muslim/chrstian view is that is a male commits adultery a wife should forgive him..but hell breaks loose if wife does the same..

Far as being like animals ... we eat, drink , sleep like animals don't we ? :) .

" like westerners, "

also i dont understand why our "culture ke thekedaars" keep using the word westener culture/values in derogatory terms always.. westeners are much better people than us indians/pakistanis etc can ever hope to be. They arent as corrupt, as leceherous, as hypocritical, as intolerant ,as insensitive AS A SOCIETY as we are...

we should imbibe the brighter part of the western culture like paying taxes, being proud citizens of their countries. not their bedroom traits like the ones described in the article above.

It doesn’t happen like that. Its kind of a package! All those so called “good things” that u list will happen only if we are first honest to ourselves and respect individual freedom. When that happens, everything, including a more accommodative social culture, follows. And I don’t know why r we so charged up about what one does with one’s sex life. Our country tolerates every kind of corruption but does not tolerate anyone’s sexual freedom though the later, most often, unlike the former, is more a private thing and doesn’t really harm the country!!

It is not just hindu culture that prevents pre-marital sex. Both Christian and Muslim culture teaches the same. What you read is London news agency, they create this kind of news for money, it sells well. So called western culture has nothing to do with religion. Where there is too much money all these things happen, India is getting rich it better watch its culture...
