indian pride
by Oceans Elevan on Sep 18, 2010 04:23 PM

Nice article and i liked the indian pride. We should be proud of us and of what we have. Biggest gift our country gives us is freedom. We r free to do anything. Yes sometimes we misuse that freedom. But there isn't any in China. Chinese people are hard workers by force not by choice. New developed china we see in shanghai especially is a window dressing. The reality no tourist is able to see. West doesn't want to talk about china now being the biggest market and also the manufacturer of the world (cheap). All said, india and the whole world has to be aware that China is big threat in long term to all. Our policies should include -How to deal with China..short term and long term both..

Write is good but I sense the writer has some false sense of indian pride. I have been living in china for almost 5 years now... Some of the good things which the author failed to notice
1. Chinese are really hard working.
2. Family is run by both male and female... especially in shanghai its the guy who does all the cooking and cleaning. I am not saying this the best way ... my point here is both have liberty for their thoughts and aspiration which is important to improve quality of life. Both work so both have the knowledge of economics.
3. Education is treasured by chinese. I have traveled to the most remote areas in china and find that even in the villages everyone has gone to a high school.
4. Most of the cities in china look alike.. planning is similar actually if you lived in one city its like you whole of china. Though cities lack individuality like indian cities I find it a good way to progress faster. Its just like cut paste in MS.
5.Having not much baggage of religion atleast younger generation are ready to experiment and open to new ideas which is vital for innovation.
6. Though corruption is siginificant at higher levels ordianary people are not much affect as in india.
7.security is tight and around the clock big daddy is watching(cameras).
8.Police are brutal but they some who do the day to day job well. Govt offices are efficient you don't need to pay bribe even to get a birth certificate. Most of it is online IT has percolated much more than compared to US
