Everyday you can see that one community or other is fighting to get obc status to get quota, why dont we remove this caste base quota and only make a economical status base quota that too within a limit of 20% max, this way we can remove castism and a healthy competition will be there. Its been happening for long it is high time we must get rid of caste base quota.

We should remove this caste based allocation of resources, for that to happen. We should first remove the caste system from society.
Anything which is related to caste should be removed.
Let's start by dropping last names, which is caste based.
Without getting rid of caste system from society, its not possible to remove quota system.
The social systems and structure in India is very different than Russia and China. Good student is rejected from IIT, but he always has a option to study in other engineering colleges.
A good student, where ever he studies. He will come up.
There is not much difference in syllabus between IITs and engineering colleges of Universities.
Not all teachers in IITs are Bhruhaspati's either.
Every year in many states, there are vacant seats in engineering.
The origins of the quota system is in our social system and structure. The quota system has to go. At the same time, the evils which were reason for quota system should also go.
'Good students are sacrificed for the quota system'. Dr. Baru should be ashamed of himself when he criticizes the reservation policy of government but at the same time he was taking pride in becoming part of the government as media advisor to PM.
QUALITY IS IMPORTANT , ALLOW PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS TO SURVIVE AND LET THEM GROW, GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT PUT BARRIERS, PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS ONLY PROVIDE GOOD QUALITY EDUCATION
Lack of teachers, colleges, universities ... if the demand is more than supply, then these issues will be there.. let there be more supply than demand.. then things will fall in place... no one would need quota etc... too many engineers, doctors will make the supply more... hence future generations would take interest in other stuff like defence, agriculture etc and be paid on par with everyone....

That is correct. In india it has always been more demand then supply. This leads to more corruption, reservations and other stuff... And there should be some education at the basic level as well to let students know that it should not matter if they have interest in subject other than science. Somehow there are very few exception in India where students dont choose science over other subjects.
Reservation was to abolish 25 years back. Our nation could have uplifted "SC/ST" people by that time. But all polititians had and are having their own mean mentality. They need VOTE but have no intention to development. - Now immediately abolish all the reservations. - Indirect help (provide books, clothes, hostel accomodation, fees, passes for transportation but not a single rupee cash/cheque by any means) to be given only to the "economical backward classes, irrespective of any cast. Hope this will work. I have seen plenty of so called Reservation category students, with a hi-fi mobiles, which even we are unable to buy. How and why this happens? Because there is a loop in our system, and the goose named polititians enjoy such loop holes.

This reservation policy has become means to get votes .Every year we see increase in reservation.Even people of higher castes are demanding reservation because they feel that they are being deprived of right to equality. if reservation system has not able to uplift the backward communities in so many years it is because those who affluents in their categories, they are garnering all the advantages. The politicians claiming to be messiaha of these communities are not even agreeable to the suggestion that onlu economically backward candidates must be provided reservation. This automatically takes care of all poor people instead of caste/area based reservations.

VERY TRUE AND EXCELLENT SUGGESTION.ONLY MERIT AND ECONOMICAL BACKWARDNESS SHOULD BE THE CRITERIA FOR HIGHER EDUCATION/UNIVERSITY ADMISSIONS.

There is no sin in marrying a so called dalit girl provided their should undestand each pther and it should be looked upon as trade. Since the thinking itself is so stupid they mix up unrealisitic issues we are not coming out of this social mess. It looks as if they want this eternal social scar on their face. There are varoious ways and means to take acre of socially backward people. why reservation only? No one deny this social evil and all will accept the solution which will really alleviate this sting of backwardness.Since 63 years this reservation failed to solve this problem then why we should continue this unrealistic and selfish motive for politrical end.
