Firstly many many congrates & salute to the young man who preferrred to serve our own country and its people. This really makes us proud to be Indian. I agree to one of the message that if can have atleast 50% of IASs as Dr. Karthik Indian can surely progress with much fast speed. All corrupted officers must learn from this gentleman.
Great Karthik, God bless you . Keep it up.

best wishes. India needs such people more and more. In fact, any commoner will to serve can do this job. But to get the recruitment you need to pass IAS and the ilk. Let us be inspired from such examples and do something.

10 years have passed Dr Kartick who sacrificed his Havard opportunity to IAS being sincere was seen as thorn to system being straight forward he was shunted from one remote place to other and never allowed to any good work. Meanwhile his colleagues from same batch will have moved up by obliging the corrupt polticians.
India losses another good person or he too accepts the system and downgrades himself

No Mr.siddarth it is not accepting ,it is the willingness of a citizen of country to serve for the country, imagine even if 20% of peoples think like this the any major issue will solve without the interfernce of bloody politicians and corrupt officers.

Well done!

It is a great decision by the young man deserving of loud and long applause. We sincerely hope that the repulsive present-day politicians of this country will let him (and others like him) do their job sincerely.

Congrats to Adapa, but
by RKN on Apr 17, 2010 06:20 AM

If all the young sincere IAS remain same without being polluted by the system, India would have been super power by now.

Youth goes and experience comes then bye bye sincerity.

IAS
by Dev on Apr 16, 2010 04:21 PM  | Hide replies

what is use of IAS ? are they just central govt. bureaucrats keeping an eye on state govt?
does this require such learning and learned people ?????
i think it is necessary but really any general person or group of people can do the job.

such people like this topper etc should be in govt. thinktanks for various projects. they should also be heading govt.orgnanisations ..
but i dont think for day-to-day checking of administrative functions, you need such talented person

also i can say,let us take one average or even dumb gora and put him in charge of an admin province. bet you that in 5 years, he will be able to improve the place fivefold.
this sort of learned indian administrator just keeping check of local officials seems a basic chaLta hai approach
