in order to arrive at this conclusion you will have to measure the IQ of the same person before and after s/he started smoking and then compare that with the normal IQ trend of a non-smoker (with similar IQ) over time..
Some Rediff articles are almost completely bone headed. I hope they don't call themselves 'intellectuals' or 'journalists'.

no that's not the point. I am not criticizing the study since I haven't read it. I am sure the professor in question is not as stupid as the reporter who posted this snippet here and is making up the conclusions without addressing the obvious biases just to push a prejudiced point of view.

this is what scientists in the west get paid for! This is where the tax payer's money goes into educating high 'IQ' intelligent retards... They come up with all sort of half -assed conjectures ,studies and theories and call that scientific research!

90% of Gay are from Super rich family, there is no bond between smoking and gayship.Smoking is a pleasure.Non-Smokers are more into Sex Department,They are addicted to Sex.
May be it is a tendency that only people with lower IQ get attracted to smoking as a habit or a fashion. People with still lower IQ may let themselves to become addicted to smoking. We need to draw a correct inference!
People with lower IQ tend to become smokers (or) People who have become smokers tend to have a lower IQ
Re: Or is it the other way around?
by slayer slayer on Apr 02, 2010 01:52 PM
what about people who quit smoking do they suddenly become people with high 'IQ' all while they were smoking? SUre making some sense now!
Howling piece of work. From Sigmund Freud to Bertrand Russell, from Einstein to Hubble, from Tolstoy to Marquez and from Jefferson to Churchill – you name it – how awfully dumb everyone was! Researcher dude, don’t toil too much in the gutters – it’s pretty hot out there. Come, join me for a fag and get your facts straight.
