Yea, I would rather read a black n white kindle instead of an iPad which along with being an ereader, also plays my movies, my songs, lets me surf the web sans the flash which I hav already blocked in my mac . Indians only know to crib and the only way they judge a device is with the checklist of features it has. Even if it comes at the cost of an excellent easy to use UI for an average non geek. I have. Its got lot of potential. Excellent hardware specs. Now if they only have a great software and suite of applications, itll be a winner. But seeing that its a startup, they need lot of money to fund it. Its a great concept, but its still vaporware and no news on public release. In tablets, its the software and UI that is more imp than the hardware as most hardware functions well for any task a tablet does anyway. The software should be optimised and easy to use.

U havent even answered that if apple sucked so bad, why is it one of the most successful company in the world today? Every quarter, apple's share in the PC and phone pie is increasing. i have always seen media paid to go crazy over apple, only thing ever carved niche was ipod but there always were better players than ipod too and cheaper look at shuffle piece of crap! iPad is just a bloated iphone nothing else! they will launch a low end version at a price and next year launch a better at same price, making fool of ppl, i used a mac at an airport and trust me, its not even as half user friendly as windows its just good looking and may be great for graphics ppl due to hight quality screen and stuff, propietary hardware makes apple even more closed than microsoft!

Its widely agreed that OSX is much more simpler to use than Windows. Less crashes, more elegant UI and excellent library of apps. If u dont know how to use, dont blame it. it takes 2-3 days to get used it coming from a Windows environment. And u will not look back. U know MS copied the mouse GUI from Apple. if not for apple, u wud still be using keyboards. Keep cribbing about iphones and Ipads. People did it before and lamers will keep doing it. This device fits excellently as a coffee table/ bedside device. Not something u replace ur laptop with. It does not do that.

in my opinion windows is way better than OSX ... it is way more customizable and programmable ... and when it comes to linux there is no comparison ... apple is no where near ...

Mac OSX's core is based on nextstep which is borrowed from BSD and Unix not Linux. Who wants linux. its incompatible and only for geeks. I am a non geek. I'm not fanatic towards Mac. Infact I would love to see Google set up Android well. Right now Android has a lot to grow and catch up on in terms of polish of software and applications. If it sets that right, then apple has to pull up its shoes. and in the end, the consumer, us will be lucky as we get the best product. I like Apple products, as I am an amateur photographer and I prefer their software over Windows. I have no faith in MS to do anything right now, but I have hope Google will be a formidable player in the OS/phone market in the future. They r the only company who innovates and creates wow-worthy products other than apple. I mean, look at the build of a macbook pro. aluminum body, strength durability. A comparable Dell adamo with similar construction costs twice as much as a similar macbk pro. Quality of build does come at a cost. U can always get cheap plasticky laptops. But I am sufficiently well heeled to go for a high end product
apple products are well known for being overhyped overpriced underperfermors .. if u r such a fan of hand helds go for E series Nokia ... else a netbook is a far more versatile and capable device ... way way way better than iPad ...
and if you want to read books go for ereader ... iPad is not designed for reading and will hurt your eyes ... kindle/hanlin/Pi/etc are designed for reading for prolonged periods and have battery lives of at least 10 days ... compare the maximum battery life of iPad which is just 10 hrs.

basically, steve jobs is relieving people off their excess cash. with such a closed system like apple, and a severely crippled device like ipad (heck, you cannot do two tasks simultaneously, yeah!). anyone who's a glutton for punishment needs to be reprimanded severely and steve jobs makes sure of that.
Frankly speaking I am not happy the apple Ipod 80 GB which I purchased some years back. It is not user friendly. When plugged to computer, it does not display all its contents on the screen like phillip gogear. Loading it with songs, pictures etc.is not that easy.You cant load it with articles or personal information . I am just keeping it without use . FCShaikh

It is bigger than a mobile to be always held in your hands while using. I really don't know how to hold it for a long time. 3. While I never have 17 application windows opened at the same time, having 3 or 4 does not hurt. 4. I take lot of pictures and the device lacks a camera. I prefer a smart phone to take pictures and share them at the same time 5. A windows based netbook is sure to have much more applications available than a iPhone OS based iPad 6. A netbook (most of them on the market) have the same or similar battery life. 7. It is just an overpriced, over hyped device
