One very small point made by Sri Shekhar is something that afflicts all forms of media. Only sectors which advertise will get covered by the media. Since Education sector is now advertising heavily, it will get better coverage from media from now on.
Coverage is based on money thrown at the media. Does media have no conscience or social responsibility to guide the citizens onto the right path? Till the media learns to have a neutral face, Indian citizens will have to get sub-standard info & get only half-truths about any event.
Indian journalists including Shekhar Gupta have not taken a firm stand against curruption and currupt politicians. They are tolerating existing situation and swimming along with it.
When I see kids studying in Intnl Schools by paying a hefty sum as fee, I realize that one need to study in a good reputed school by paying normal fees.
There is no guarantee that one who studies in international schools are more successful. Educational institutions cannot make a person more intelligent, it can only provide knowledge. Intelligence comes with the genes.

intelligence yes... but good scope and opening comes with good school...
there are lots of schools in india.. whose students are good but they get avg marking on the basis of their school... there are a whole lot of people in rural & sub-urban india who are at par with the bright students of the metros... but they get very limited scope...
Shekhar proves what I have always believed. You don't need to have studied in English Medium schools to become successful or speak, read and write good English or be successful in your career. He is one of the few really good media personalities we have. I would love to go for a walk with Shekhar one day. There's lot to talk about with a person like him. But I'm no Vip. So let me abandon all hope.

Absolutely. I admire Shekhar more than his guests whenever I watch the Walk the Talk program, and his centre page articles in Indian Express.
