Moms in law

Legally father and mother of a son do not have any say in marriage, but in case of any problem, they are caught first by law. Todays, total protection whether right or wrong are given to only daughter in law, actually mother in laws are under high mental pressure and afraid of their daughter in laws. This law must be changed, this has imbalanced the social norms.Law must give equal opportunity to all.

National Commission for Men
by Sanjoy Banerjee on Sep 18, 2009 10:19 AM  | Hide replies

Dear Friends,

In India there is a National Commission for Women, there is a separate Ministry for Women and Child Development, there is a Ministry for Animals and so many organisations for protection of Animals / wildlife, etc but why is there not a single Commission / Ministry /Department or Organisation for the welfare or protection of men ?

It is true that women were the subject of victimisation in earlier days. However the fact of the matter is yesterday's victims have become todays villains.

Two days back there were as many as 08 women's organisations which met the President for passage of the Womens Reservation Bill. It is a moot point whether women of today really need reservations. I don't see a single men's organisation for any purpose.

Also look at the numerous false cases under Sections 498A and Domestic Harrasment Bill.

It is my considered opinion that the time has come for men to start organising themselves and forming some associations for its welfare / protection. Somebody should take the lead.

Going about our daily lives thinking how best to look after the financial needs or welfare of the immediate family is no more an option.

Your comments please.

I strongly agree with you. We need to condemn the biased laws passed in the parliament and also the conduct of NCW(national commission for women). They dont event people/media to tell the truth(thats the reason when women showed courage to speak truth abouet themself in Sach ka Saamna, it was axed by NCW). The NCW is always happy to suppress the media to show the women as the one victim in society so that it can dictate its own term. I am amazed the way the news got manipulated in media and condemned in extremely wrong manner by NCW. Let me quote you a recent example, in Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Chauhan organized a mass marriage ceremonly for girls and boys from poor families. He only ordered for Pregnancy test for girls to ensure that their life goes smooth after marriage and there should not be any problem in that since its mass marriage ceremony and hardly the boy will get any change to verify any details. The NCW took it other way and depicted this checkup as their verginity test and sent a notice... .. this is seriously a blunder. Tell me one thing if the girl is pregnant with someone else child then are you going to show any sympathy with the person she has got married. This girl will again end up the marriage dragging him to court and police, filing false dowry cases again the guy. In this entire episode there were few girls sent back and considered as in-eligible for marriage.
