No, there is no law or person who can protect our mums or sisters from a such course. If a good people try to save the life of a woman at the time of such inact, our Law will kill the good humanship and give him such a lession that he will never go ahead to save life of any lady. So who can stop it? No there is no PM, no President, No law, no Court only the God and if he desire to save a life only he can do it for a particular person, but rest is zero. Dont get the wrong notion that police and the general public will help you in times of danger. so Do Not be at places and at times which you might regret later.
Best way if some serious (and habitual) stalker is there is to convey it to the parents, and give police complaints.
For people who work up to odd hours or have to travel alone in not so familiar areas, it will be better to have a pre planned safe exit methods or routes. Karate or chilli may be tried as a last resort, failure in any of this may be disastrous at close quarters. Best is to bail out of the situation as early as possible. It is always good to listen to inner consciousness, (the sixth sense) and get out of the problematic areas. If you are a little vigilant thier might be no scope for surprises.
It is always better to avoid taking problematic routes. Nights in most cities are not safe even for able bodied men, and theft is common. So it is better to avoid overconfidence, and reduce i will take the world head on attitude, in dangerous places.
I dont think assaults are result of dressing style. I think the assualts are driven by attack on a weak person by a strong one or group. So better keep away from being week.

i completely agree. prevention and avoidance is the best way to keep yourself safe. learning self defense is a great asset, however its always better to avoid circumstances in which you are forced to use your skills. mace or pepper spray can also be helpful. remember, running away to safety is always the best option, especially after you defend yourself from the assailant. avoid lonely places, be out with a group f people you trust, keep your home informed and most of all be vigilant.
The only way is to muster the courage & counter attack such stalkers;defence is the only way for women in such attacks.That is why it is advised that women should learn "karate" to enable themselves defend in case of need-especially in cities like Delhi which is notoriously known for all such atrocities on them-again especially on teen aged girls. Though Mumbai is more populated & bigger than any other metropolitan cities,the law & order,all said & done is far better.That is the only city where women can travel even in the mid of night in local trains & BEST buses-especially those attending evening colleges.No other city in the country affords such a security to women as against the unfound fears rumoured to the effect that life is very unsafe & insecure in Mumbai.Mumbai police are very very efficient compared to their counter parts in any of the Indian Cities & certainly they deserve a pat on this count.There is lot to learn from them by the others.It is very typical of Mumbai to have a security of utmost degree for its residents on one hand & under world mafia activities going on the other. The other way to protect themselves for the women-rather easy is to carry some "chilli" powder whenever they go out & sprinkle into the eyes of the attackers whenever they suspect any such untoward incident.Women on their part are also to observe some decency in their dress style etc which rake up the passions in the onlookers-especially the Romeo type of people.No harm in doing so.
its high time we started coaching our girls on safety and defense tips. a stalker is a coward who doesnt have the b**** to confront his own feelings and thus intimidates girls. Self-defense techniques and safety norms are a must in school, college curriculum. and, young boys need to be taught proper values so that they don't resort to such foul means to fulfill their hormonal desires. change needs to come from the homes and the authorities. the attitude itself should change. only then can there be an improvement in the status and dignity of women.

Everyone is taught proper values at home but still these things happen.The values & morals has to come from within no one can teach u that.One can make u understand it but it is u who has to take the initiative to control ones urges.The biggest culprit is lust.Till lust is there these things r going to happen
This is totally one sided story. Women are the main culprit for all... their way of dressing, immature kind of behaviour etc. They INITIATE evertything and finally falls as victim. Whereas normal guys are really scared to INITIATE because of social implications. It is a fact that women are more tender minded and fragile. They even take extream steps to INITIATE. Girls are capable of making the minute change of expression on their face and make guys walk behind them. Atlast they walk off (called so called cheating)when they feel that it is leading to trouble. By that time the guy would have become mad and take up extreame step like killing, raping, suicide etc. It is not today's story... It starts from the first chapter of Bible and illustrated in many epics

yes girls like to play with peoples emotions. not one but many, so if they played with the wrong guys emotions then they have to suffer. Just improve ur character. tie rakhi, no nice guy ll harras. but as girls will be girls. ll do anything for fame money attention.

To an extend what "true voice" has said is right u need to look at both sides of the coin,there r instances where the girl may play with the emotions of a guy & when she finds a better choice she dumps him for no reason coz of this the male ego gets hurt & he takes such extreme steps.But a lot of time the girls gets hurt for no reason of theirs.

I agree with both Rajeev and True voice. I have personally seen both the cases.
But since the topic is about girls/women avoiding/handling stalkers, they will have to be equip themselves. Draw as less attention as possible and avoid any actions or gestures that wakes these beasts up (This might mean loss of freedom, but need to be compared as a mosquito net). For rogues, deal harshly with initial advances, and ensure that there is a full stop to everything. For more sensible/sensitive more often than not it is more appropriate to talk them out af these feelings. In both the cases, early treatment is the key.
Usually males are very less emotional and it is very rare that they have true love, hence it is very difficult for them to come out of a true love. So, instead of waiting for them to emotionally get attached and then rejecting, it is far better to cut it off early.
Then there will be guys who have absolutely no love but just lust or greed on women, these should be reported to local authorities.

Dont men have any integrity these days? and what 'initiate' are you talking about? suppose a female relative of yours is being stalked or getting blank calls, would you blame her then? please broaden your approach and perspective. sadly, its because of men like you, that this nation is still indifferent towards the plight of women in this country.

I don't agree. First of all, girls/womens, need to be open and share things with others and not to keep close to their chest.This applies to my relatives & family members. Also, they should spurn the advances at the first place itself & not to leave the guy going after you for months & allow him to take the final step which will be fatal either to him or her.
Stalking , evesteasing, molesting .. all happnes with most of the girls who happens to leave their home. Dressing sensibly doesnt help. I hv experienced all tht so i can say tht.The best way to deal with it is to confront that man and keep a tab on his ways .

The police should mandatorily have helpline nos. to track stalkers and teasers, the present police system is ineffective. Most of these young women who migrate between places find it difficult to approach the law and ask for help. Can the taxpayer money be better utilized to provide policing measures, more police-women and more communication services which are manned?

Indeed. All the suggestions here are given by the people who really had never faced these scenarios. As a gal you go out and you face stalkers every day.
You see many of the perverts here even claim it is girls who are responsible for it. These are the type of ppl who are stalkers in real life.
The only way to avoid a stalker is face them bravely. Most of them are timid cowards who run away on the slightest sight of confrontation.
