In my opinion one should become an engineer by choice not by chance. Sadly, most of the engineers today are by chance not by choice. They choose engineering b'coz of parents/peer pressure or they feel that it will help them get a job and not because of the love of the subject. This is the prime reason why we can see lot of civil,mech,elec engineers writing codes in IT cos. Had they loved their subject they would have joined an industry relevant to their subject. I feel sorry to see non IT engineers writing codes coz, they have not done justice to their trade. India needs quality engineers in heavy industries but, it gets only those who cudnt make it to the IT cos.
Please dont take up engineering if u dont have the love or passion for the subject...

NO ONE CAN BUY PROFFESINALISM FROM EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION , ITS CREATES ON JOB , MOST OF PROFESSINALISM COME BY MONEY ( EDUCATION WITH HIGHER FEE , SOUND BACK GROUND ENV. OF SCHOOL , HIGHER LAVEL COACHING , VERY GOOD DIET CHART OF STUDENT )

I fully agree with you Sidhdharth!!Gone are the days for the value of the courses one chooses.People are driven sheerly by monetary considerations since it is the money which makes the mare go!

evry body is money minded they need to print money in lakhs as they spend lakhs on education .
so many mbas are passing out from good bad universities...its slowly going to loose its value now even small dick companies are asking for mba s for a ny enry level job..many mbas passed from unaided schools are working as door to door salesman..i have seen myself

My son has done MBA from reputed business school after leaving engineering (EPC) job which he got in NIT Kurushetra campus.But pity was that the earning what he is having after MBA is less than what he would have if continued after engineering in earlier EPC company. I can say MBA did not helped him for getting more paying jobs.
An Engg Degree is not meant for serving a3-in-one job of typist,stenographerand attendant sitting in a ac cubicleof 6by4 ft.He is to work in hydel/thermal power plants,roads construction and so many hazardous jobs which really makes the country s developement.The mgmt books are written on the basis of the experiences of those who are really woking in industrial fields.They are practically managing the IR problems incuding achieving targets.The theoriticians are really the dark horses.These generation of Engineers attended schools with their mothers waiting at the school gates,studied in colleges which are not residential and so on. They are cowards and are scared to go for any tough job. It is high time, these group of engineers are given a seprate name instead of Engineers.
After this recession recovery from sep2009., US MBA., &US MS (Mangment information system) has pciked the job Market at US.,& more over if you do your MBA 0r MS at USA., you are sure to get your VISA extension under STEM quota., even if you spend Rs 15 lakhs., for getting these US degree., over a period of two years you can recover the cost of your education. arunachalam iyer
there r so many fake one room MBA institutes in Pune Mumbai...dont just go for the sake of getting a degree many mbas from these institute cant even spk proper english...many institutes r money making cow for its directors( who r mainly politiciens )even professors cant teach properly there...
go to any kinara shop run by marwari ,gujju,chettiar or any other business famililes.do not require an mba degree u will learn more than any institute.

we were waiting for a marwari to comment and you are right. MBA's are jerks in 3 piece suit, most of them do mba because of peer pressure the others do not know what to do, only a few really want to do an MBA.

The time has come to call the MBA bluff. Even a two year full time MBA course does not equip anyone with any worthwhile skill to take on the responsibilities associated with a job. Workplace skills can only be learned on the job not from courses at least twice removed from business reality. It is time all these institutes were razed to ground and land they stand on put to some good use.
the capitalism have given mulficarious and various type of delusion for people, majority of people are just smuggler,,majority of bania generation have not been mba, they have family gene to get profit and sell at profit,, that is essense of mba but it is more money minting than teaching,,real life is full of struggle, its need mental, family and financial knowlegde, product and mental set up, ;whole wewstern world is creating greed like gambling where million aspire,thousands gets and one succcess that is casino greed, like harvard, oxford,,rich need to waste their money,, if orinary people unite, we can be most prosperous, mental stisfy ,,,
