Good idea for Mr. Sibal...
by Varun Rathi on Jun 30, 2009 05:29 PM

Mr Sibal,

This is a very good idea to coin an idea like this. The whole country is now debating about class 10th exam.
This way, a lot of your other duties as HRD minister is ignored by people. They are only busy in class 10th exam.
There are a lot of other more important things in improving our education system than making class 10 exam optional. But this idea is very easy to implement and getting much higher publicity and visibility. And thus more important in your political career.

Education???
by sabkiaawaaz on Jun 30, 2009 05:28 PM

Today education is a business and the quality is gone down, every year committee has taken place for betterment of education but there is no results.
Now a days the guardian is so pity that they are not able to handle the education expenses, on the other hand the school management has asked to do unexpectedly.
Purely it is the matter of greediness of management and if any guardian not to do so than getting threatening from them and if they want keep this matter in front of any regulatory body than they have the control switch of EXAM RESULT and TC.

now Mr Sibal has make the comment on education system to make change but before ask to those politician and businessman that they will agree or you also make rules and regulation for them?

A brave decision
by kumaresan on Jun 30, 2009 05:27 PM

making 10th exam as an optional is a good decision. Because most of rural students in india who didnot get through the 10th exam are making end to their studies. particularly, girls who did not pass 10th will be stopped going to school by her parents in most of the villages. So, making the 10th exam as optional increses rural litreacy and in girls case it reduces early marriage of girls.

Our sibal sir's decision is good one which improves rural litreacy inturn india's litreacy.

too bad a new system for students
by sandeep ekbote on Jun 30, 2009 05:24 PM

Actually regional board is a good platform for students as it brings education at par with certain required norms for college education. But by scrapping the old system we have entered a door for some below standard quality education in India. Before emulating the foreign system our honourable and responsible minister should have thought about the quality of education delivered at different regions and places by our teachers. You will find a complete disparity and be disappointed and how are you going to have a dynamic and brilliant youth with this new system? Actually its just throwing dust into the eyes of Indians. I strongly reject such system unless quality teachers and infrastructure is provided. We can improve upon current system but instead of showing nerves at the time of crunch we are trying to run away from the problems, abandoning the old one saying it bad which our past expert ministers have laid down. Its better if we stop this nonsense and be sensible to stick to fundamentals and go for the better options ones we are through with old ones. Thanks.

this may lead to teenage pregnancies...as students won't have anything to do and indulge more in pleasure.

One exam in the country
by SURENDRA MEHTA on Jun 30, 2009 05:23 PM

There should be one syllabus in the country. Language selection should be decided by the state with one common language i.e. english and hindi optional in all the states.

Exams might have minimized the competition, but what about the contribution to the society with the learning from examination system? Be honest and comment.
