But I seriously doubt that you can contribute being a civil servent. What ever your ideals may be but still very soon you will end up as a servent of a currupt politician. The you will start competing for their blessings with your fellow CIVIL SERVENTS. Sad but this is the truth live with it.

Her Reply "It was not easy. I was earning well and working in the IT industry for about six years. My lifestyle changed when I stopped working, but I was motivated to see this through. In fact, when I started in the IT industry, I was convinced that it was a great career. But after a while, I realised that it was just a job and that I was not contributing to the society. The sense of dissatisfaction began to grow. It was difficult to convince my family that I could do it."

Her answer is hypocritic, a blatant lie. This is the true character of a civil servant in India

No person prepares for Civil services for doing Social service, but to enjoy Power and Money involved in it is the only attraction. And the ultimate aim of an IAS is to become a Politician or Businessman to protect the black money he/she earned on the job.

I do not exactly echo with the feeling conveyed but yes there is some amount of truth in it,there is more of a attraction for the immense power and money lying beneath in comaparison to social service, had she been interested in social service alone she could have devoted herself to one of the few NGO"s existing out there working for the upliftment and improvement of society,to contribute to the society you dont need to join civil services, you can do while working along like she was working in IT and she could have pursued her drive for contributing towards society

What she could have been a management exellence in corporate world, will now end up as a typical Indian Babu serving politicians.

Everyone knows what our civil servants do - synonym of corruption, flattery of Politicians and be part of every major scam.

True. The corporate corrupts Politicians who use bureaucrats in all the corrupt practices. The difference is that the Corporates are the masters and the bureacrats are their tools.

You first clear the civil services exam and then comment. Else keep quiet. This lady is exceptional.

BTW, you need to see the real world to understand what a "Babu" does. There are dedicated people amongst them.

Get out from the confines of your cubicle, airconditioned artificial environment before commenting

Yes, I lost faith in Babus after Goswami deblacle. The man who became a Hero after his work in flood which put him on the front page of Time Magazine, actually came out to be a scamster.

Other Babus are not too different, all involved deep in corruption. You need to come out of airconditioned artificial ebvironment and go to Govt offices, and you will see the reality how Civil servants are sucking the money of exchequer like leeches. You are not their cover.

Beware of the ground realities!
In Govt working, 'bigger fishes' EAT 'smaller fishes' !
The CONFIDENTIAL REPORT IS A BLACK MAILER!
You, syre, will aspire to be high one day?
So that Confidential report will squeeze out your inner self for cArrer UNLESS YOU ARE CAREFREE!
That why I say THE CVERNANCE IS BAD! The things are allowed to happen in a wrong way!
There is no ethics (I dont meam all by what I said but most are like that )
