I deeply regret the racial attacks on upper class Indians in Australia. Whereever there is exclusive Indian upper class whether it is Australia or Jammu and Kashmir we become defenceless. It is time for all of us to think and introspect how we ill treat our own people belonging to SC/STs in India.

Guys you are fighting un necessarily. try and focus on India in general and not abt J & K and minorities. If we say Australians are rasists, what so you think you guys are ??? being rasists to each other (abt J&K and Minorities)... well abt me Im an Indian (dont care which part) and am settled in Australia. And i love this and country and the people around here.
I have been living in Australia for 19 years after migrating here. I have also lived and worked in India in recent past. Never ever faced any situation of rather found this country/people very friendly and very tolerable. There have been some incidents of bashing/snatching by drunken young guys which is very unfortunate. The reasons have been explained in some articles.There are lot of incidents of beating in Mumbai, Noida.Delhi NCR and other cities. I have read many positive feedback and advice to students from other Indian Australians. I do not want to repeat those.I would like to request the Media not to exagerrate and blow things out of proportion.That will make the lives of Indian/sub-continent people living here more difficult.Burning of effigy of ozy PM is very indecent. He is the new PM and will do his best to stop these. Australia will not run the way India want. Indians have to adapt and learn things here if they want to be comfortable with. I whole heartedly wish good luck and recovery to those victims.
The most sensible of above posts to me seems of Karthik. There are certain aspects of us also which need to be corrected. Somehow I feel all this racial media frenzy, it has done much more harm to Indians then helping them. Respect can never be ordered or asked, it can only be earned. China is one example. However when our nation has failed us we need to do on our own...
A successful ENTREPRENEUR is worth 10 MBAs and 10 PHDs. However, I suggest every Indian to work and live in a Western Nation for at-least 3 months. You will learn the good, bad and ugly sides of their and YOUR culture and socio-economic conditions.

i blong to kashmir i remained in kashmir till 30 years of age. i am a hindu and till 1990 there hindus almost 1% of the the total population. i know that how sensibly we were living there and how much humilation we were facing.i being indian i became migrant in my own county this is ultimate humilation. i request my indian brothers in australia to keep cool. my sympathy is with them god willing every thing will be OK
sry guys, I cant speak against my heart. lets spk facts now instead of blaming others? is there no racism in india? hindi spking ppl are hurt in mumbai - again, taxi drivers. sikhs are burnt to death in delhi? bengal also burnt before independence - remember, makhali? indian govt sponsored war in lanka. kashmiri pundits homeless in their own land. lets show the glory of the so-called indian-ness before blaming others. we dont need a pseudo-secular govt. we need a govt that doesnt violate human rights.

If u cant deal all this betterstay in u rvilage and pls dont go abroad.. pls lets see the current problem in our country ..like 2 trains burnt in bihar.
There r junkies everywhere around the world.. In chicago, you just cant walk down the downtown after 11 p.m.... there r so many criminals in India too .. i just read a news , a mob fired two trains in Bihar etc etc ... so many violent incidents happening in India.. Add to that what MNS and shiv sena ppl did to north indians in maharashtra ... what happened recently in punjab .... I guess we have much more incidents happening in India to correct them first ... I dont know why so much of fuss is being created of this ... I live in CBD (centre point of melbourne) and dont find any racist thing atall apart from racist behaviour by our own ppl against gora's ... hehe ... :).. everybody is so polite and good over here ... they are so generous and I am loving it :)...and yeah media also hyping the news n all.. I know about one of the brawls that happened in thomas town between Indians and Lebanese gora's as couple of my frnds were also involved in it... I just read that news in Indian media and totally wrong info was published..it was just a small gang war with lebanese immigrants over bunch of our guys teasing their girls and media quoted it as attack on Indians by aussies in thomas town.. innocent indians bashed up in their homes by teens .. lol crazy stuff

Btw, to add, I am in Singapore. and there are lots of indians here. still, I find many of my colleagues from the so-called non-racist / safe india who work here are too agressive and abuse ppl. I am sad to say this, but true!

hail indian media! Singh, we very well came to know of the indian media during this election. You wont believe this - but, try this out. open any article about the dynastics politics, in ibnlive / timesofindia portals, and post a comment - very descent one without abuses - like a positive critic, against the govt. you would be surprised, it would never be published! I tried it all through the election whenever they called it a free and fair one.
infact, there was no free and fair elections in TN at all. 20000 voters, and 30000 ppl voted (!!??) still, there was only 70% polling and congress won! everyone in TN know how our dear PC won. still, the so-called indian media's sting operations have literally gone missing. so, dont consider indian media as too neutral. its far worse than bbc / cnn when they reported about WMDs in iraq!!
