you r right Guru this article was posted on yahoo , i think a week back. And the words too are exactly the same as it was in yahoo
a research or survey in countries where men and women test each other physically before marriage is totally irrelevent in indian context except for some cities where the angrez left their seeds still growing.

This may comes true, since all of us know that and everyone has tryed to mention same thing that Rediff has mentioned about Money and not only Love, I would remind everyone that since "Star Plus" programme Such Ka Samna is there to help couples get seperated, they are giving Money to help couples but ther again compelling to disclose your every truth which u have kept undisclosed with ur partner, so after getting that amount do u think this will be all right? so parallal to Star Plus channel Rediff is also trying to destroy Indias immage.

1000% I agree with Madam Sunita. It is misleading by putting an Indian Couple caricature. Rediff should avoid publishing these kind of sinister articles otherwise people will loose confidence on Rediff
There are people who will read this article and say in india this is not true but tell me which parent of a daughter in india will let their daughters marriage to a guy who is not well settled. These days girls are also looking for money rather than guys looks. They just see if guy is NRI or has loads of cash etc and etc. And they give thier daughters with loads of cash and jwellery and make their daughters marriage so tell me where is love in this marriage (arranged marriage) its all about money honey.

Very true. In india arrange marriage is completly the game of money. And they say arrange marriages last longer. This clears that money is powerful than Love.
Why they are globlising these facts. This is really foolish. How they can compare the situations in Australia and India? Why are they generalising the facts from a post modern community like Australis. Atleast they should have put the head line as "Love is not enough to make a marriage work in Australia". We Indians and the Western people are living in two different edges.I dont think we can compare in ANY case with the west. Tottaly different culure, mindset,etcc..everyhthing.
These rediff guys are not working hard to make good headlines. When you are copying please make sure that it is relevent to the Indian public.

Nothing idiotic. Rediff is quite right globalizing the factors. Love and Money effect every person irrespective of their country of living. BTW, Austalia is not west of india... :-)

if you see what the study indicated is really true even in indian society including the marriage, Now imagine which parents will make their daughters marriage to a guy who is not well settled? even girls demand is that guy should be having good moeny the looks doesnt matter to them So in that sense what the study indicated is also true to in indian society.

you are right friend....they should not globalise these topics. India and our culture is very different from western and modern cultures.
I dont know why the indian media is trying to educate Indians on problems in west.... Is broken marriage common in india???....media shows west culture here and corrupts the minds of good... We never hear single parent....as this culture started in west media gave so much importance as if it is a space programme....and now we also have news about single mother in Indian cites... Next was a hype about a un natural homosexuality, a gift of west. Media presented the homosexuality liberalization as if it was India's independence day. Is this what our country is going ahead.... People who have brains please think.....If u dont want your children to do it....U plz dont do it...

carefull, you will be termed as orthodox Hindu extremist trying to keep the country from 'progressing'.

Don't blame West for everything - I haven't seen any Ad for abortion or Pregnancy Termination on American TV whereas on Indian TV I see Ad for I-Pill.

that is because of population in America and other countries are less and they need children.. but india !!!!! that is also a reason.. we cant blame the add and media..

Dont generalize the culture like west/east. Australia is not towards west of you. Any culture if you dont like becomes a western culture. Samesex relationship is quite old in india, its nothing new. The only new thing is media publish... thats all.
Ever since Rediff launched its New design, guess its finding shot of content. Bloody how is this article relevant to INdian Public. Its a researchers at the Australian National University. Not any Indira Gandhi or Rajiv Gandhi University. By publishing irrelvant articles, its trying to westernise the readers thinking.
Very bad.. Put india related stuff, not just Copy & Paste
Re: Lack of Content.
by Karthik Elangovan on Jul 29, 2009 01:46 AM
I agree with you 500%, Rediff should put their own findings or something related to India. I feel the editors or the journalists are a bunch of lazy folks who prefer to copy and paste from other site, or do a collage of whats available everywhere. Put some creativity in your work you morons!

I thought it was just me, I feel the new Rediff layout is awful and the content of it is so horrible too. I think Rediff is lacking a direction, the management should decide if its a news site or an entertainment site. If they think they are infotainment site, they are a complete failure, because they are not doing both well.
