v tru, love is one of the aspect to marriage work other are flexibility, compromise , giving space , understanding , being patient & ofcourse respect to each other.

Well you dont need love to be flexibile, compromise, give space and be understanding and patient. We do this with everyone who makes difference in our life who we do not necessarily love. I think it applies very much for Indian public as 90% of the marriages are not based on love but pure arrangment. So seeing how marriage hold on for lifetime in this country should be a topic of research to see how people can survive a loveless marriage. And as for marriages not breaking is a result of dependency of women on men in Indian marriages. A few single moms you see are brave enough to face the society and knowing how to take care of themselves without depending on their abusive partners.
