Any one whose name is being sent to CIBIL as a defaulter must be notified well in advance, either by banks/lenders or by CIBIL itself. Many a times the name goes to CIBIL by mistake and the person is totally unaware about becoming defaulter. he/she comes to know only when he/she applies for loan. its wrong way of implementing this valuable service. RBI should take steps to improve it.
what is the guarantee that your bankers will not misuse this forum to blackmail you to pay their unreasonable charges/bills. If you are in dispute with your banker/credit card co for excessive charges and you refuse to pay , what are the chances that you can shift to other banker/ credit card co for loan, if they spoil your credit record ???
How much time does it take to get a reply from CIBIL after you have sent the papers & fees. In a number of cases, it has been observed that Report has not been sent to the person even after 3 months. Is it another way to gobble money in the name of Credit Reports.

Yes. They are lazy azholes. They claim that the credit report will reach us within 2 weeks, but it will take atleast 2 months for sure.

CIBIL furnishes the report to its member banks within 24 hours. If it can be done for its member Banks, why is it not possible for others ?
why do i have run at all the places and send docs, they could just take pan number online and even payment to keep things simpler. Run for DD run for paper copies and live in fear of misusing them. CIBIL just does not want to work, making life tough even for genuine customers.

I agree that it can be simpler, but, CIBIL wants to ensure that it is giving the information to its members and to the Borrower himself, but not to a third party. Yes, payment can be made much simpler. There should be some secured online registration procedure, so that the third party cannot access to your personal information.
Do you know, CIBIL charges Rs. 34 /- only for its member banks ?
