by rahul mishra on Dec 29, 2009 10:34 AM  | Hide replies

WHY THERE IS A NEED TO FALL INTO TEMPTATION OF CREDIT OR LOAN....IF U WANT TO BUY A CAR....BUY IT BUY UR OWN SAVINGS RATHER THAN PAY 16 PERCENT INTEREST.....IF U HAVE ALREADY A HOUSE ,DONOT TAKE LOAN FOR INVESTMENTS IN HOUSE AND LATER ON BECOME DEFAULTER.......OUR HONOUR IS IN OUR HAND.....LITTLE PLANNING AND CONTENTMENT SAVE U FROM DISGRACE.....KEEP LOAN OPTION ONLY FOR EMERGENCY.....EVEN FOR EMERGENCY TRY TO MAKE A CORPUS THROUGH UR SAVING.....NO CERTIFICATION BY CIBIL IS REQUIRED IS U KNOW THAT U HAVE NOT BORROWED ANY PIE FROM ANY ONE......

wait till the day when employers start checking credit history reports before offering you a job (this happens in all developed countries today)
It is always a good idea to maintain a good credit history. Using a credit card for minimal purchases each month and paying dues on time is enough to create a good history!

Credit Report is a joke in India
by Surya TheGreat on Dec 28, 2009 09:51 PM

Even in US where mail service is done with at most care, there are errors bound to happen. I think in India this is going to create a mess. People can easily steal someone's identity and get loan from Banks.

A simple PAN number should be able to fetch the report
by Azad on Dec 28, 2009 12:32 PM  | Hide replies

A simple PAN number should be able to fetch the report... why so much formalities from applicant side??? If they create a template based on PAN number the process can be done within 30 Sec same as how various websites fetches data from sites world over and gives/sends a statistics to you... I think only few people are required to run CIBIL... the staff of CIBIL is an excess burden on the system who creates a manual system to waste time of every citizen… USELESS CIBIL PROCESS

very well said.

But the whole idea is to keep it RED-TAPED, so they are doing the right thing.

Whats so great about voter id card? Even bangladeshis have it, most likely honest indians are not able to get it.

Not everyone who gets loan pays income tax and has PAN number. There is no unique number for any Indians (unless UID becomes mandatory). Hence multiple proofs.

CIBIL is a ploy for Non Grant of Loan by Banks
by Blue Square on Dec 28, 2009 12:32 PM

Every Bank is aware that the CIBIL info is not correct always. Banks have found ways to justify their action of not granting loans to people. Loans are not granted otherwise too. Why this joke on prospective borrowers. Are CIBIL Reports clear in the case of those who are being granted loans. No. They are learnt to have provided Indemnities as a safeguard against CIBIL and Banks are happy to grant loans to such VIP parties.

We should not depend on only one agency. Many agencies in this line need to be formed.

CIBIL REPORT
by vilas phansalkar on Dec 28, 2009 12:18 PM

being a financial consultant, i came across many cases where creir card settlement was done by mutual consent. But same is reported as waiver to CIBIL. Banks turn down such proposals. Is it necessary to report waiver as default by the banks?-Vilas

False information is giving by CIBIL
by BHAVIRIPUDI SRINIVASARAO on Dec 28, 2009 11:59 AM  | Hide replies

I had applied for a home loan. The response given 2 wrong addresses and 4 wrong accounts. The ICICI bank people are refused to sanction the loan based on wrong information. I had sent mail,e-mail and fax. But there is response at all from CIBIL. RBI and Banks should take steps regarding this false info given by the CIBIL. Because so many customers are unnecessarily troubling the customers.

In certain cases the inputs furnished to CIBIl by various lending institutions/banks are found factually incorrect. For example, I have a dispute with ICICI bank and based on that dispute, my credit worthiness have shown by them in bad limelight. This adversely affects my credit worthiness. Will the CIBIL check the genuineness of the inputs provided by these lending institutions/ banks?
