why leave your 1lkh job to make worthless films
by satya raut on Dec 31, 2009 09:23 PM

"accident on hill road " has no story or screenplay to speak of, the actings inane , the dialouges insane ,and the only mystery that the viewer is worried about is when the interval shall come .....maybe Mahesh nair shouldnt have chucked his 1 lkh salary after all !!!

End Answer was not good...
by Amol Shende on Dec 29, 2009 12:33 AM

The last answer was not good. He must not have told the business secret. He must have rather told that how he had used all his experience of story telling into building up new corners in the original story...

Yasir Ahmad
Stroy's great but the cast isn't
by Yasir Ahmad on Dec 28, 2009 01:06 PM

I liked the struglle story of the man.
But the casting he has done for the movie, except for farooque Sheikh looks a tad shaky. Celina, with all due respect to her, just doesnt know how to act...barring a couple of set expressions on her face, she is a complete No No on the acting side.
Its always possible to make a great movie and an excellent story telling experience with great actors who may not be all that well known...Case in point - Khosla Ka Ghosla, Dasvadaniya and others.
But best of luck anyways buddy!

My Opinion
He chucked because
by My Opinion on Dec 27, 2009 11:21 AM

He had resources and backup to survive. For a person like me who has risen from hotel room boy to project manager,it is not possible to quit.
Let us not just make heroes out of only film and cricket guys.

Very good interview...
by Jas on Dec 24, 2009 09:29 AM

but doesn't look like his movie will run.

Another question: Why not make a excellent movie with lesser known actors. Will that not work at all?

Excellent interview
by Aravind Raman on Dec 23, 2009 01:16 PM

One of the best interviews on rediff! Very well phrased questions and hard hitting on the face answers! Kudos to Mahesh for his patience and passion or should I say perseverance?! Readers got a first hand account of how an "unconnected" person struggles in the film world. I wonder how he managed thus far with the meagre income he got intermittently.
