They don't take breaks at appropriate times, spend more than a 'normal' amount of time online, and get irritable if they are interrupted while surfing.
The internet was invented at CERN so that nuclear scientists could share data. It is unfortunate that it is being used for frivolous purposes, and worse, for the perpetration of crime. Sir Tim Berners Lee wouldn't ever have thought it would come to all that. Hope everyone would use it responsibly.
social sites should not be accessed in working hours but problem is that working over time and not able to give time to family and friends. makes ppl go on easiler way that is social sites. i work for more then 10 hrs a day so its not possible to come home and talk wit friends and family so taking time out and checking msg on social site

Its true that people do spend quite some amount of time on social networking but before blaming them one should realize that in most of the IT companies working hours stretch beyond the regulars 8 hours. If one is working 12-15 hours a day then s/he will need these sort of activities to ease up a bit.
