finally HRD minister has got some point to hang on to and hit back at IIM directors who did not want HRD ministry's interference in their operations... Hope HRD minister doesn't blame it on Opposition parties or Pakistan...;) One entrance exam, few glitches and it becomes a national issue...!!!!!!!!!! long live India...

The HRD Minister is acting as if his own Dept (and he himself) is totally mistake free. If an event like the CAT was organised by the Govt, then it is left to ones imagination as to how it would have turned out. This is not to say that it is okay for IIMs to mis-handle an important test as this.

Well you were nearest as both were engineers. How about doctors, managing finance for a large corporation?
For every thing an enquiry will be conducted and it will take years to get results. If that is so what for Government is responsible. Only for issuing some statements?

The problem is not just a standalone one where students could not log in. Those who could not take the test would be permitted to take the test later. But what about the candidates who faced issues like their system performing very slow and resulting in loss of time. Apart from this some students reported that after their system rebooted, due to a faulty software, they were allowed an extra 30 mins by the software. This is just the tip of the iceberg, as many would not have reported the 'BONAZA' by Prometric. The most absurd thing about CAT 2009 is that some questons started repeating from day 2 onwards and the pathetic aspect of this is that candidates were not supposed to discuss or reproduce the questions verbally, electronically or by print. As a result some candidates who were brilliant enough to send dummy candidates benefited the most and those who followed ethics would be left behind

When you can have a SSLC failed man as education minister (not the current case) then anyhting is possible. Do Not grimble. The administartion requires only common sense and ruthlessness.
Sibal said the government is not involved in the process. What ever happens in the country government is responsible. this statement implies how the current government is irresponsible.
