FORWARD THIS ARTICLE TO TRAI
by Murali on Jun 05, 2008 10:50 AM  | Hide replies

TRAI normally does not take action on customer complaints on faulty services, but ask consumers to contact service provider or go to Consumer Forum. In order to force TRAI to formulate some sort of laws to protect consumers from fleecing by mobile service providers, I request all readers to forward this article to TRAI. A mass mailing may make TRAI to think of doing something. I have the following e-mail ids of Trai & its top officials, which I got from website.

trai@del2.vsnl.net.in, chaubemc@trai.gov.in, sudhirgupta@trai.gov.in

Reliance for me too..
by Puneet Jain on Jun 05, 2008 10:34 AM

Yeah. Reliance has did it three months back.. But they refund my money when i talked to their call center.. But it was really a cheap tune they activated on my number without any intimation. I used to receive many official and important calls on my number.. Caller tune doesn't leave a good impressions..

Don't know what TRAI and Govt are doing.. Perhaps they are happy with their share of revenue..

Its a law by the Govt to have proper verification done on connection due to recent terrorist activities. If you live at the address you have given they will certainly not disconnect. Why would they want to lose business?

In my case the service was disconnected without any address verification being done at all. I have been living at the address given to Airtel. They disconnected the number and refused to refund the baland or allot me a new number or re-start the services even after the documentation was submitted again.

RELIANCE does this always
by Mayank Jain on Jun 05, 2008 10:17 AM

Its the Reliance which activates caller tunes without being asked for & starts charging for that & even on several requests nobody bothers to deactivate the same & make refund
