dear editor,
i have previously informed you about the day light robbery the UK universities are conducting in the name of training overseas students. a couple of years ago the government here asked the uni.s to find their own funding and since there has been a mad rush to india china and far east to recruit as many foreign students for high fees.

the recent change in legislation means none of these poor students who successfully come out of these courses will find longterm jobs in uk and quite contrary to wot kevin said they dont hold any significant advantage over students qualified from other western countries.

USA and Australia are much better destinations as they do employ stedents who qualified from their respective universities for long term. When UK citizens are running short of jobs the whole exercise of studying and working in this country is a mere fantasy.

i think you should give your readers a fair chance to realise the pitfalls before assisting them to be led along for the slaughter.
if your not publidhing this opinion kindly reply and lemme know why

regards

dr manohar

Dear Dr. Manohar,

Fact is that both your say and the situation are correct.

One way UK is really running short of jobs for their own citizens above that thay have now opened up their job market for EU work citizens. So the need for international students to go there and take up jobs have gone down drastically.

But Indians (particularly this just 18+ generation) being all time hungry for foreign visit. So UK is actually utilising this sentiment and pumping in currency to their economy.

Regarding UK job one must make it very clear, that UK will only convert student visa to Work Permit/HSMP for those job sectors/professions where they really need out of EU brains, else they will under no circumstance convert any student visa to Work Permit/HSMP.

Instead of just jumping for a UK degree and to dream for UK job, first judge the situation and then go.

Yeah, its a well known fact that many universities like to admit lot of foreign students. The reason is that these foreign students definitely pay a good 3-4 times more than what the local students would have to pay, for the same course!!!

But as you have mentioned about poor long term prospects in UK, it's high time that Indian students like me shouldm come out of the shell that "only degrees in countries like UK or US will guarantee a great life ahead". The fact is many Indians simply refuse to believe that there are countries other than US/UK to provide quality education as well as good jobs, provided the student works hard & deserves it. It's strange that why lot of students don't sonsider coutries like Australia, Malaysia, Germany, Finland..i think it's time we visit these countries a lot more through the internet, rather than simply sticking to UK alone.

I hope the editor would like to publish my reply as he had been very honest in publishing the original mail indicating 'Daylight robbery'.

Thanks and let us do well & help our country improve through our inputs.
