hi to everyone
i read lots of question and answer on study in uk. i am doing m.sc in electronics in uk. i just finished my studies just dessetaion is left now. if u ask me about uk degree and ur job in uk then i say its good if u have 2-3 year experience but if u just finished ur degree and start next post graduate degree here afterthat then it is more difficult then in india to get job here. infect from my point of view i don't prefer to work here i just perfer to work in india because more opperunity are present in our country then here. but it is only crase to come here. after all thats ur decision. best of luck for your career.

My View on UK Degree - Job
by Suman on Jul 08, 2006 07:31 PM

Hi All,

UK Econony is quite strong any day. There can't be
a second opinion about it. But watch out...

1) Studing in a UK University does not guarantee a Job if u are not a EU Passport Holder.

2) Studying from UK University allows you to work for 1 yr/2 yrs in some cases.
Within this period if you manage to get a good Job
of around 29-30K pounds p.a. and if you are under
27 yrs , then you can apply for HSMP visa.
Once you manage to get an HSMP Visa you would definitely identify lot of employment options.

3) If you are a genuine Techie - specialist (IT)/ MBA graduate from London Business School/ you can expect a lot of thimgs coming your way.

At the end of the day please remember , you are a product and you have to do lot of self-marketing using industry contacts / skill presentations
to make your way.

If you are coming to
UK in the intention that you can find a job and stay here then please reconsider your thinking. I'm in UK, it is very difficult to get a job. Don't waste your time & money. Think...

BEWARE... UK is not a career destination anymore!!!
by Sumit on Jul 08, 2006 12:11 AM

Hi
Wake up to the changing times! Yes Times have changed.. and UK is in a transition where the economy and the government policies seems to be going wayward. The recent clampdown on doctors and nurses is a major blow to any aspiring professional seeking higher education with an aim to seeking employment in UK. The fiasco in the hitherto much reputed National Health Services which jeopardises the career of hundreds of doctors and nurses who came in good faith to train and work here is just the beginning which will show up in other fields as well. The home ministry changed visa rules overnight without forewarning the doctors already in the middle of their training and also stripped the 'equal opportunity' for employment and making a british or EU passport as a prerequisite for a job irrespective of the merit of candidate.
The higher education dream of all the middle class youngsters whose parents spill their savings and take loans to fund for the coveted English Degree is fraught with hurdles unseen from the picture painted in India. They are selling their wares which funds and runs their universities and home office. But remember to have a job you MAY NEED A BRITISH/EU PASSPORT!
