relevent to an extent
by Vineet Mundra on Feb 21, 2006 09:27 PM

I have read the comments for the article...both the favourable and unfavourable. I dont totally agree or disagree by any of the two views. Building wealth is important...especially when a person has no big money to inherit. However just concentrating on building wealth and not having what you really want is also not good. I will give an example relating to myself. I am 26 years old now...professionally qualified and earning a decent income. However 5 years back, i was a student. I was earning some money from internship. Since i was very young, i had a lot of wishes. I liked to wear branded clothes, buy music CDs, have a CD walkman edtc etc. My thinking was that this is the time to enjoy and i should think of saving when i get a job after qualification. I did the same. i never saved any money in my internship period. I did what i wanted to do. I enjoyed...and i have no regrets. Today i feel that the money i would have saved then in a year is what i save in a month today. I enjoyed the best years of my life. But now...i know i should build wealth gradually. It does not mean i should not spend on what i want...Oops....wanted to write more, but sorry, have reached the limit.

I totally disagree with this article...
by Manjunath on Feb 06, 2006 12:53 PM

as you said that ur father made crore of rupees by saving in each and everything....btw, what is he going to do with all that money? why is money for? That currency paper got value only if it is spent and not by holding.....

I really admire your brother a lot.... :) he is enjoying the life( which is very short period in this earth). At the end of his life he will not regret for anything... he will be happy that he had seen and done things.... :)

Why are u saving for tomorrow which is no body knows what happens...

My suggestion to all is just live life to full extent and let live others... :) if ur in the mood of becoming whealty, obviously u will be greedy....

Great article=brands are for the rich
by Shiv on Jan 28, 2006 10:43 AM

I think its a very well written article & quite thought provoking.

Brands are for the rich & people from rich countries.

Its better to donate to the poor /ngos or someone

needy than waste money on things other than basic.

Rgds,

Shiv

Pathetic Article

It is apalling to see such rot on your site. Which is not only badly written, but also factually wrong!! You are in direct contradiction to all the financial experts in the world.

I appreciate the author for his efforts. Lot of people do not even know that being wealthy is different from being rich.
A person who is Rich may jus have a good life style, but he/she can get broke the moment thier source of income is cut. A wealthy person has more assets, lot of cash in his/her account n other investments which can be liquidated very easily. n Most of the times wealthy people are a little conservative in spend and they look for value in whatever they purchase...
