same should hold good to companies as well
by chintu on Sep 18, 2006 06:57 AM

i appreciate the article but the same should also be told to the HR people of the companies which just take multiple rounds of interview and suddenly dont even call you and let you know the reason for not calling you for further rounds.

First of all most companies will promise "best salaries" and "perfect match for your profile" and then they stop calling you after couple of rounds of interview because your salary is too high or they are looking at people with experience in someother technologies. Isnt it obvious that the people also want to be equally ruthless with the people who have gone through it so many times?

correct but not wrong
by raj on Sep 18, 2006 02:41 AM

After reading this article I felt its correct to inform the company not accepting the offer but if not informed its not wrong completely. Because Indian companies are not professional. When they interview people they never tell the results .Esp IT companies one day HR calls and they are silent like hell then one day they call again leaving the candidate to guess what is what. Nor do they tell that the candidate is selected or not selected. If employees are not informing the companies they dont join is not a surprise to me, rather they are right in a way as there has to be some way to harrass these companies also else they just dont follow the so called HR policies which they have on paper

HR Team should also be responsible
by Swapna on Aug 28, 2006 10:06 AM

I have been through a tough situation dealing with HR of one of the most reputed and respected software companies in India.

I have cleared the interview and produced necessary information for background verification. The HR team also discussed the pay package. They said I will get the offer letter in a week's time and I waited for 15 days but no reply from them. When i tried calling the HR he said they have alreay sent it but i never got it. I again called up and they said they dont have a job which suits my skill set.

I was shocked to know that after clearing the interview and the background check how can they say that i dont suit the profile.

So there should be certain guidelines for the HR team too.
