I did my MCM from Pune University and recently was motivated to give the GRE. Honestly speaking, I had no idea what it meant. The Internet gave me all the answers. I don't have enough money and so would be saving exclusively for the GRE/TOEFL, for the next couple of months. Joining a professional class is impossible. So please help me with the study material. I have downloaded the "Barron's Wordlist". I would be buying a book for the "Quantitative Mathematics" part. After 2/3 months I would go for some professional tests just to get a hang of the actual examination. My Question: 1. Is R.S.Agarwal, a standard book for GRE preparation? A friend told me, it is. 2. Is my approach correct? I am not trying to create sympathy in here, but my salary is Rs. 8000/- and I will be saving 6000/- for 2 months to give this test. So the first shot at it, is my last shot. I need a "Home Run". Thanks Sahil

Well its better to focus on the reading comprehensions more these days 'coz they appear a lot and r time consuming and about general verbal and stuff its enough that u prepare from BARRONS and maths practice a lot before u take ur GRE!! ALL THE BEST

thanx a lott...!!! could you please let me know which books i need to practice from regarding the aptitude section
I got placed in Infosys. I will have to join in June 2007. So I need to appear for GRE this October. But if in case, my preparation is not complete, and I wish to appear in Feb 2007, I'll get the score by March, I suppose. So after getting the score, would I get the calls from universities I have applied for soon enough that I could leave Infosys? I mean, that by June 2007, after getting the score n applying to schools, can I be sure enough to get admission that I could take the risk of leaving Infosys..?
The article by Siddhu Warrier was extremely helpful and precise...However I need some more info reg the following: 1. How should a person who has not studied math since Std 10 prepare for the quantitative section? Any books/materials you can suggest? 2. Any suggestions for a work plan -- I have about 2.5 months to prepare for GRE and right now I am having starting problems when it comes to making a work plan.. Any help will be highly appreciated.
