Why are you shouting. Media people with their false propoganda fooled the middle class people. Media miscampagin led to a tilt of 8 to 10% vote of middle class floating vote and it went to Congress more because as they wanted to teach a lesson to communists and fourth front cracks Mulayam, Lallu and Paswan. Otherwise the result was just opposite. Analyis the correct situation and use your brain before barking Gump.

What we all forget is that BJP is actually fighting for only 325 seats in all including those of the the allies. This is out of 543 seats. They either do not have an organisation there, or their brand of politics is not popular ot even shunned in the rest. So if a "National" party fights in only 60% seats, it has to get a 90% score to win! Unless there is a huge, huge anti incumbancy, they could never do it. Then they do not have a good leader, now or in the near future. This time they indulged in negative politics: instead of talking of what they will do, they talked of what Congress did not do, or what the Congressiwalas are, or what they would do to Pakistan or Nepal or Lanka if they came to power and so on. Negative politics come from negative people. Indian voters know all about whiners and complainers. They can do no good. They can only comment, not act!

Vijaykumar says Media did them in!! Remember they are also voters and a pressure group. Did you not know? In fact they were more concentrated on commenting about the antics of the third front and fourth front. The circus fronts!!!

Vijaykumar, don't tell me you could not see the basic math and all this drama going on!! If you really didn't, you should not have commented at all.

Voting class..
by Bodh Ramdeo on May 26, 2009 12:01 AM  | Hide replies

People say that BJP lost because it couldn't convince people to come out and vote- the very same people who proclaim to support BJP totally refused to come out and vote. Maybe.
The real reason may be more simple- BJP has never repudiated or denounced caste as the real evil afflicting this land, an evil they do not support and will not support, an evil to be totally ripped-out from this poor divided land, where al are equal not just de jure, but de facto too.
When Advani or Modi or whichever of the BJP top brass openly denounces caste, not just in words but in deeds too, then maybe the aam aadmi may feel more inclined to support them, and not for their Hindutva policies.

In my view, BJP made a few major mistakes.

1, The tieup with BJD was critical. They overestimated their capability in Orissa and it was big blunder. That also impacted other votes in nearby areas.

2. Rajasthan - they lost heavily.

3. They did not have any ally in AP, TN.

4. They need to build their base in states like Orissa, WB, AP, TN. Also forge alliances in NE, Kerala, TN, AP.

5. The ability to speak without controversies (or sounding harsh on personalities) is a crucial one. BJP made some mistakes and the media exploited it for the benefit of their adversaries.

6. Unreliable allies like INLD should not be encouraged. BJP has been abused by many such parties who enjoyed power at their expense.

Donot talk about caste! Are you aware that today's Cabinet expension is being delayed because congress is not able to come up with a list because of caste and regional considerations? the ministers are sworn not because of their capabilities but for their caste and region, community bias. Who is free from the caste bias in India? None!! It's a curse to our nation but we have to live with it as it is being recognised and prupetuated at highest levels? What about Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha tickets? Are they given on merits? No No and No. It is done on cast basis by all parties. So better accept this reality and not to give clean chit as CBI to everyone.

Congress is good at spinning tales, it seems the cyclone is caused by the two wives of DMK patriarch that is delaying the swearing in.

VERY GOOD EXCUSE, Vijay Kumar Ji.Tomorrow you may come out with the argument that English media Channels opposed Hindutva. Please come out with the truth trhat voters have buried deep the Hindutva Philosophy and voted for a stable government with Dr Manmohan as the Head for the growth and progress of the country to occupy an important position among the comity of developed nations. The main reason why BJP was deafeated is because
1.They are short of Leaders, Advani, modi, jaiteley are not suffiecient enough to mobilise 720 million voters. Bajpayee and Pramod mahajans absent is felt very much.
2.They are short of national issues. Ram mandir is deterrant ,so is Varun and Modis politics.
3. Rahul Gandhis Charismatic approach to youth and sonia's straight forwardness, Manmohan Singhs popularity across globe and Indias sustainance of GDP in recession took Congress in the Drivers seat.
4.Media though has played a minor role
