CONGRESS has done the best after a long time.

Congress has taken the right step after a long time and believe me everyone except the chamchas of DMK will appriciate this action from Congress.
CONGRESS must do the same with NCP / NC / TC these are the groups of power hungry self centered selfish corrupt politicians who should be kept out of Parliament.
About TC we are sure MAMTA has a history f throwing tantrums and basically a psycho case .She should be kept with a leash tight on her otherwise she will prove to be a big embarassment for the cabinet.
NCP leadership is a day dreamer ,now Pawar knows PM's seat is out of his reach so he is canvassing for his daughter.
Its a case of family kingdom and CONGRESS should not fall for such apportunists.
Laloo and Mulayam are sitting n the roadside awaiting the possibility of some crumbs falling in their lap but chances are very very dim.
Amar Singh the SP Dalal don is out of gas as Congress is all out to keep SP out of cabinet a any cost and Amar Babu must go back to Cinema parties and enjoy some lime light with actors and Bacchan family.

How good is the clear mandate ?
by chandramohan on May 22, 2009 02:35 PM

Today, UPA has emerged as a single largest formation by far and Congress had won 205 seats and is not at the mercy of its allies. Precisely, it can run on its own, take its own decision. It need not listen to its allies (the smaller regional parties). How good is the situation for the individual states? Today Congress has got the upper hand and its denies DMK of the cabinet posts it asked for. And even TMC is not given the plum cabinet posts. This is a monopoly situation which needs to be carefully looked at. When Congress denies good cabinet posts to NCP, TMC, and DMK , well that means, end of the day the individual states with Non-Congress government is going to suffer. I firmly beleive that only a coalition govt(formed of regional parties and a National party) can look after the interests of individual states/regions. Today's government is a Coalition Government on papers, but in real thats not the case. So this for sure not going to help the regional interests.

Crush DMK,RJD,LJP,SP and LEFT. Only these parties are untouchables. BJP should help congress in wiping out these parties.

Congress & its allies

There is no need to accept the pressure of DMK. They will come to the terms of Congress sooner or the later, since its a question of not DMK[poor cadres] but the question of becoming ministers from ONE FAMILY. These family members can't remain outside the Govt. for a long time. It's only a pressure techinque by DMK our PM & Sonia madam should not accept this pressure politics.

I am not a supporter, but recent events have changed my way of thinking. Congress should not bend to regional parties whims and fancies. What they are doing right now is the best thing for the future of our countries politics. Parties like DMK, AIDMK, TRINUMOOL and LEFT FRONT, BJD should only treated like door mats and should be treated accordingly

by navneet on May 22, 2009 12:56 PM

no. not at all, i think the issue should be development & position should be distributed as per the ratio of seats each of the coalition member has won & not by threatning or issuing ultimatum
