Corrections & comments.

1) President Kalam is neither Tamil nor M'lim. He is primarily a patriotic Indian.

2) South needs proper representation at the center. TN tries to bully rest of other southern states to get its way thru & block their projects & efforts to get recognition & funds.

3) TN has violated constitution by enacting its state laws regarding reservation & language implementation. This is against philosophy of national integrity.

Jayalalitha has a doctorate & so Karunanidhi needs to get one.

Awarding awards such as Bharat Ratna, Nobel peace prize, padmabhushan etc to worthless people brings down the respect for the award.

Although many people are worth the Bharat Ratna, it should be noted that TN, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh & West Bengal has bagged almost 65% of Bharat Ratnas.

I wouldn't be suprised if Sonia OR Karunanidhi gets one.

My question is, how many Bharat Ratnas can we produce like, Sir. M. Vishweshwariah.

How do you say he is no Tamil or muslim but an Indian? He is Indian because he was born in India. Similarly he is Tamil because he was born in Tamilnadu and his mother tongue is Tamil. Also he is a muslim because he is born to Muslim parents and practices Islam. In India people are ready to accept Sonia Gandhi as Indian and are happy that Sunita Williams went to space (even though she is a US citizen born to polish mother and Indian father) but are not willing to let fellow Indians from other states to be proud of the sons and daughters of their soil. What a hypocrisy?

The context is national politics.
The subject Kalam in this case is beyond politics of language OR promoting religion OR promoting his family OR promoting his kind. I corrected the author about identifying himself with Kalam as a Tamilians.
At the same time, every citizen in a positive sense has the right to promote his kind to take up the just cause.
However politicians, movie stars, artists, government officials have all misused their positions to promote their progeny.
If Nehru family can promote Rahul to become the next PM, why do we complain about caste system in India?

Finally Some one has guts to write
by Guru on May 23, 2009 01:20 AM  | Hide replies

I am so mad at Karuna's family business in Indian Democracy. Finally some one in mainstream media has guts to write about this drama going on in TN for few years. Most Reputed new papers like even The Hindu don't touch this subject. None of Tamil media has a courage to talk about it . Its good that finally rediff has come out with this article. This one family makes all Tamil people fools and poor. God save TN.

Great article
by Sivam Kumaran on May 23, 2009 01:06 AM  | Hide replies

Congrats Ganesh. Being a Tamilian I am ashamed too. What a useless bunch of thieves. MK and his family. He shamelessly wheel chaired in power corridors to secure power and potentially lucrative posts for his own family.

Whom to blame except voters? I don't understand how he was given such a victory? Free TV, Rice? MK did nothing for the Tamil Nadu state except destroy the economy and kill small and medium industries by frequent power cut, weak administration etc.

I believe Dr.Singh is a man of principles and don't yield to old fox like Karuna. This guy Alagiri is a known gunda. At least Maran brothers are decent and able. As per reports MK wanted ministry berth for his own son and daughter. Oh God, please save my state from these worthless politicians.

Berth in the Cabinet
by Vasudevan Rao on May 23, 2009 12:28 AM  | Hide replies

Mahatma Gandhi fought freedom for our Nation from the British Raj. He never held any position. One should set example like him and our Ex-President Shri Abdul Kalam.

Power is such that one cannot leave so easily and one should also try to learn that people's mandate should be justified whoever in the helm of affairs.

shame on dmk and kalaingar
by balu kuppusamy on May 22, 2009 11:48 PM  | Hide replies

if the minority dmk government in tamilnadu headed by karunanidhi could armtwist and get congress to support its government from outside without sharing the ministerial berths in tamilnadu, what moral or legal right do they have to demand main portfolios in the center. Remember, the congressmen of the state have been frequently requesting for minesterial berths and were repeatedly snubbed by the cm ,citing understanding with the high command. But now, shamelessly and selfishly, mr.kalaingar with his poor health bound in wheel chair has come all the way to delhi trying to extract maximun for his family and his corrupt aides( one murder accused first time mp, one backdoor entrant first time mp daughter, one powerful nephew who was thrown out and embraced back according to family and oppurchuninistic wishes, one minister who shamelessly defended his corruption and one who has apparently broken all the records for the scam involving single largest amount- alsa dmk apparently has no other suitable or qualified candidate).
If the dmk want to be outside supporters, they can be; they must be made to be. Afterall the congress has been made to do so in the state. if theywithdraw support, let the congress do the same in tamilnadu and mr.karunanidhi will have to remember that he has to loose his government and face polls from the wheel chair. Crazy man, even in late eighties he has not learnt the political decency, selfish and shameless for power and money

One thing Mr. Balu, Congress cannot win even a single seat without the support of DMK. He is not asking anything new. Congress had promised him these cabinet positions before elections and now they are backing. Let us list all the ministers in independent India, you will find everyone has a share in scam or whatsoever. His family members are first of all party members and they address their father as leader rather than father. If they are capable to hold a position and well fitting for that, what wrong in giving them a chance.

you say TN is integral part of INDIA. But you gotta name like SMITH sounds like a bloody doublegamer from west. What you know about Tamilians? Which state are you from? Can you reveal it here? You are so scared and kept a western name and shouting like a dog (sorry dog is so good) you are shouting like a pig. First you learn how to write a sentence without spelling mistakes. Writing in caps doest not mean that you are expressions would be understood. We are asking our ally not yours. Give respect and Take respect. If you want even we know words to speak.

when so many sincere senior and experiencd party mps are available, i am surprised to learn why a cm should insist on taking his family members with no political experience and that too to a very lucrative portfolio. shameless act by a state chief. he is interested in serving his own family and not the country.well written article to save face of good tamils. already many are laughing at the fasting after breakfast and ending before lunch time.this is the sincerity towards suffering tamils!

with DMK. They should not have queued in DMK's head quarters and MK's residences like beggers and settled for just 18 MP seats in TN.. Huh, the so called Nationalist Party settling as a junior aliance partner in the state.. Dont he knows the history of DMK and his leader and his family. What were the congress doing, when MK's eldest son uses all his money, muscle and personal power to canvass votes for the same guys.. just because you got results else where, cant behave like this to some stupid new formula.. Now congress has proved that they are not just beggars, but they can behave as pi-mps.
