Raj Thakare cost the BJP's prosperity in over all India
by Ramesh Iyer on May 19, 2009 06:55 AM

Raj Thakare cost the BJP's prosperity in over all India inperticular UP & Bihar. His anty North Indian & South Indian attitude was not openly enough. Siva sena and other Senas of the Maharashtra were seen as part of BJP in the country. Actually Raj is the culprit for the BJPs fall.NOZT VARUN GHANDHI. VARUN even won his MP seat. One should understand Raj's oppertunistic attitude. No doubt Citizens of the state to get preferences but Raj's men went even MAD and killed the Young Citizens of our great BHARAT. It is not our culture. sending back or even killing the guest who come from other parts of the country.

It could be voting for none
by Virendra on May 19, 2009 05:22 AM

I am from a remote UP village, rural upbringing, lived in UP for about 30 years, still closely associated with rural and ruralised urban societies and living in Punjab since last 12 years. Presently I am in US since last about one month but have been talking home daily and at length and discussing elections mostly.

In U.P. common voters vote, normally if there is no wave- and there was none this time, to caste of candidates and their supporters. Muslims used to vote to Congress then to SP and since last many elections have been voting to any muslim or in absence to any non muslim strong against BJP. It mean to different parties in different contituencies. Dalits have been voting normally to BSP in case they do not have a personal link with a candidate or their important supporters. Muslims and dalits voted in same fashion this time too. The big difference came from non aligned common voters. They were confused and tired off existing lords- SP & BSP. Congress was not a party in UP and BJP was getting extinct. So this time they voted to some one new, other than SP & BSP. Congress presented a celebrity in Rahul Gandhi and it worked

Dalits will avenge
by Engineer Bhangi on May 19, 2009 04:23 AM  | Hide replies

Dalits will avenge this humiliation from Congress,BJP and SP. All these manuvadis will soon be taught a lesson.
We will soon start a fire demanding reservations for dalit in private sector. MMS thinks that he is great economist. The share market is rising. Manuvadis are making money. Wait for us Dalits. Once we lauch this andolan MMS will run away and all manuvadis will be beaten as their coveted jobs will go to dalits. We will bring life to standstill all over India, till our demands are not met.
We expect full support from communist, and other dalit parties. Let us see what these manuvadis in congress and BJP wpuld do?

slowly reservation has become a right rather than a gift. Very soon people will say, give us reservation else we will fk u..Very few have realized that, we will never be able to reduce or stop reservation once given, so the wise will say, dont give in first place. but that, its congi rule, they will do what guarantees them power.

careful, musies are trying to divide hndus between upper and lower to fight the numerical disadvantage. Hndus need to be unite, look at some of musi so called intellectuals and their articles on musi sites. Btw dalits need to be helped for sure but reservation is not the way, rather they should be helped to come ahead by education etc. need positive approach, not a dckhead like arjun singh, who want to replace ambedkar as dalit massiah.

Who cares..
by Peter Parker on May 19, 2009 04:13 AM

The people of UP and Bihar should vote for anyone that gives them good governance. After all voting on caste / religion really did not get them anywhere.

O boy! sycophancy was all over this author... The author rhetorical insisted that BJP had no Issue, when In fact, it was BJP which was raising issues all along... From Terrorism to strong laws against terrorism, to economy, and rising inflation to lack of growth in agricultural secord, and not least, the money hidden in swiss banks... just no wonder this author is a professor at some dead Jew worshippers' administrative college... Such people are just a big curse on INdia..

congress has given so many issues but BJP didn't took advantage. BJP rather concentrated on Varun gandhi and modi. I am not against Modi or Varun, but at grassroot level BJP did take these issues lightly otherwise they would have got so many more seats in UP. Moreover UP is a land of farmers and farmers dont relate with BJP, they will simply vote fr anybody who give the best value for their crop. BJP has an image of a party of corporates.Thats why they vote to SP/BSP/RLD/Congress.

Correctly said. BJP lost it's campaign on serious issues. They showed to the public that they are no different than COngress.

They started with Hindu sentiments and they never cared Hindus seriously. They all started going behind other vote banks.

But they did development in theri states and their 6 yr rule was very good.

But issues like Pragya Thakur, Ram Sethu, Terror in Mumbai never got BJP's campaign that much.

Varun and Modi were just tactics to make Advani a moderate and that worked some.

Also Advani's image sidelined several leaders. What happened to MM Joshi?

BJP pathetically lost bcoz of its poor leadership and almost no agenda!
Congress won and that's too with almost full maority despite high inflation, economic meltdown, sensex crash, terrorism increase, looting taxpayers money distributing freely to loan takers, etc.
It's not that poeple like congress. actually they don't have any choice! only congress could give stable govt.!! enough of khichi govt!!
atleat one thing is good cong got full majority..these left, bsp, lalu got eliminated and I hope continues..

Really?! They why did it do worse than 2004? Its easy to list issues without a solution. And its easier to be anti-Semitic (if you know what that means), hate-filled ignoramus, Deepak. The illiterates of India had more sense than you.

So an educated citizen cannot come out and vote because it is hot outside? I don't think that is patriotism. If you care about your country get out and vote
