When she is not throwing stuff at Speakers at Parliament, her goons (MLAs) are breaking furniture in the Assembly. All her goons who want to run riot on the streets of Kolkata want to see her in power.

Look at her mannerisms (not that she has any manners). Always shouting, bickering and basically looking for a fight. Not something I'm looking for in a CM - I prefer sensible, composed and dignified people.

resounding slap on Tata
by hv mishra on May 18, 2009 05:28 PM  | Hide replies

Mamta's win is a resounding slap on Ratan Tata's face. He campaigned openly for Bhudadeb. He cannot understand common people and wants to design a common man's car...lets see how it fares, initial response is lukewarm.
Tata has openly backed Modi and Budhadeb, both are down now.

You need some basic level of education and culture to appreciate what the TATAs have done for the country. The rest can only talk like Mishra.

by Arindam Rel on May 18, 2009 05:18 PM

I personally like the way mamata Won.It's a long due. Left shuold be left alone. Mamata has done a great job. And to achieve the dream of putting left back to oppposition , they need to do couple of things :
1. Ensure Cong. in center is with sync in the state.
2. Strengthen seats in rural area.
3. Look issues in the villages. They have no one to tell.
4. Project few capable folks who can give administation.
5. If possible favour WB from center - It is true and we choose you for that
6. be patient

who the hell thinks like BJP is against Muslims. Agree with their Hundisum Idiology but they are not against Muslims. It Was AdvaniJi who first praised Jinna in Pak and lost his post. It is not BJP who is against Muslims it is because of RSS fact which is behind Muslims but i know after their Loss in elections BJP will come out of the Shadow of RSS and Jansangh.

Mamata's victory is temporary
by India Shining on May 18, 2009 05:06 PM  | Hide replies

Mamata's victory is temporary - she will again loss election as sghe has no policy towards WB except fighting Communist.
Communist are not exactly bad people. After the great recession and lay-off, we must understand that Socialism is necessary for humanity. Only capitalism & industrialism can'tr serve community . But Communist should improve themselves. They should not stick on their medieval policy.

Enough was enough is the message in the mouth of common people of West Bengal.

People - both in rural as well as in urban areas are tired and angry with Left front for their double standardness.

1) On one hand the WB Govt. talks about Govt. talk of industrialisation and developement, on the other hand, a) see the pathetic conditions of roads in and around Kolkata, b) entry & exit to Howrah Stn and Sealdah Stn. chaotic and dirty, c) No broad and clear raods in Kolkata,

2) No plan to reopen so many closed industries in Howrah, Barrackpore and in other parts of the state.

3) People in villages of Purulia, Bankura, Birbhum and other villages do no get two meals in a day.

4) Misuse of Funds for the Mid-day meals of poor school children ( under the central Govt. scheme ) by the boards run by the left.

5) The Central Govt. scheme for the upliftment of poors and down trodden are not being properly implemented by the State. Only people owing allegance to Left get some benefits - others don't.

6) On one hand they critise US and West, for every small little things, but keeps mum in the matter related with China.

7) With 60 odd seats in the last Lok Sabha, they were dictating terms w/o taking any responsibility.

THE LEFT PARTIES SHOULD EITHER IMPROVE THEMSELVES OR FACE A WIPE OUT IN THE COMING ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS IN W.B.

Those who could not improve the condition of state in 32 years can never do so in 100 years in power. People of Bengal have patiently waited for so many years but with casual and indifferent attitude together with oppression has woken up Bengal people

Mamata Works
by Andrew Stevens on May 18, 2009 05:06 PM  | Hide replies

This is for all those who say that give Mamata a chance.

She was a rail minister and has nothing to show for it. The railways reached record losses under her mantle.

Her TMC ran the KMC and it was a nightmare. Everybody remembers the potholed streets, no water supply and huge taxes. I have personally seen cash packed in three potato sacks sent to her Mayor Subrata Mukherjee in the dicky of a white Ambassador.

Remember how she bit the BJP hand that fed her?

And as opposition in WB, I haven't forgotten the countless bandhs she has called for absolutely no reason or what she did at Singur. She successfully destroyed Kolkata's image into what you people now called a $hit-hole and destroyed the hopes of so many young men to get jobs who gave up their land. Kudos to Tata who has still absorbed them in Pantnagar and Gujarat even after what she did. Remember the video footage of her tearing her own sari and then complaining of "police atrocities"? Her capability of stage managing "atrocities" is common knowledge.

She has proven time and again that any number of lives that stand in way of her ambition is to be destroyed. It's hard to imagine how people forget all the evidence against her and still have any hope from her.

Who brought Bandh Culture in Bengal? It is your pet Left Front Govt. Have you heard any where in India that people in power is calling Bandh (State-sponsored). And don't write non-sense of tearing Sari. Go to NH-31 connecting South & North and see the condition. No where in India a Highway is so narrow and full of Pothole. What improvement Left did in 32 years of (Mis)Rule. See the data and then write.
