P.Chidambaran is an able minister who can fit into any portfolio. Since he has an intelligent mind, he is ideally suited as a Home Minister as he will definitely have the capacity to pre-empt or even foresee any future attacks that may take place on Indian soil. This is what is most important as a Home Minister and not one who starts taking action and preventive measures after the attacks and misdeeds have been committed. Just as a pen can be mightier than a sword in the same way brains may be better than brawn in dealing with terrorism. And PC rightly fits this bill!

When Shivraj Patil had proved to be ineffective, PChidambram took up the responsibility and did quite well. I think it would be a good idea to make PChidambram the Home Minister. Looking at the shoes and hate mail hurled at PC for being hungry for money and glamour, and that being his reason for not wanting Home Ministry, looking at the criticality of this portfolio, and good performance of our PC as HM, it would be a good choice. Foriegn Minister - the best bet is Dr. Shashi Tharoor. Other than the fact that he has just returned to his motherland from the UN assignment, he is the best bet. But the respect he enjoys in the world forum, the high level of intellect and smartness that he has, the tact and techniques for international persuasion, is resting best in Dr. Shashi Tharoor.
The home ministry is the least comfortable for ministers. It offers least opportunities for making money or rubbing shoulders with the who's who of the nation. No wonder why PC is disinterested in the home ministry.

Yes, PC might grab the agriculture portfolio if given the chance. Lots of money to be made there. You see?
