corruption in election
by r vijay on May 17, 2009 12:39 PM  | Hide replies

It may be noted that many voters names were off the voting list in Tamilnadu. In my area, south madras, many people including myself reregistered names three times continuously. Each of the time, names were off the list. I have two election cards already and have been living in the same house for last 20 years. It is surprising to note that none of the names of the families belonging to christian, muslim or slum area (DMK vote bank) were off the list. Media should take up this case and help people of Tamilnadu. Just compare number of names in ration cards (who are eligible to vote) and number of people who were allowed to vote. Educated people are sick of the DMK govt, which is wasting all tax money to give gifts to its partymen.

Two things must be immediately takeup by election commission to stop corruption in election.
1. Ward wise counting must be kept secret and only final results must be declared. When this politians know that a ward has no support for them, most names in the ward go missing.

2. The article 49 O must be enforced confidentially. It must be also just another button on the ballot box. one cant exercise this in fear

(A) The Indian voters have shown maturity

(1) Gave vote for stability (2) Outdated policies of CPI(M) rejected (3) Opportunistic alliance monger PMK rejected outright (4) So called Eelam tamil protector VAI.Ko trounced (5) Good Governance by and all prevailed in majority of states (6) Ms. Jayalalitha is not even courteous when she talks of DMK cheif by name ( 85 year old veteran)(7) Mr. Stalin was gentle in explaining his government achievements and not attacking opposition parties at personal level (8) People camping only in Delhi rejected ( Mani Shankar Iyer, Prabhu, EVS,etc.,) rejected (8) ADMK's chielf last minute joke on tamil ealam did not cut ice even with uneducated voters (9) but sad aspects of the result is that even performing candidates like Velu rejected by a huge margin (10) So called and self styled saviours of tamil and tamilians read as retired & rejected directors & actors etc., shown their place (11) Chrianjivi has to bite the dust for his false promises and stage acting. A final vote for the immaculate Dr. Manmaohan singhji

Hats off to Indians

The otherwise sober Dr.Ramdoss was very vocal this time in his attack on DMK and its leaders. He even told that after the elections theDMK Government would be dismissed and the State would face Assembly polls within three months, that DMK party itself would vanish itself and that no DMK man would venture to come out of his house without covering his face(DMK karan mukkadu pottukitu than veliye varuvan). Now people has taught him a lesson for his indecent utterances during election propaganda. What he expected of the fate of DMK after elections now would apply to his party.

JAYALALITHA SHOULD GIVE SOME RESPECT TO ELDERS WHETHER POLITICAL ENEMIES OR PERSONAL ENEMIES. AND. PEOPLES OF TAMILNADU TEACHED A GOOD LESSON TO THE GREAT DR. RAMADOSS (PMK) DR.ANBUMANI RAMADOSS ENJOYED FIVE YEARS IN THE UNION CABIBET AS HEALTH MINISTER. NOW HE GOT GOOD LESSON. IN FUTURE NO REGIONAL PARTY SHOULD NOT ALLOW PMK IN THE FOLD. LET THEM CONTEST ON THEIR OWN. MR. CHIDAMBARAM HAS LOST HIS SEAT AND SOME ADJUSTMENT MADE AND ANNOUNCED HAS OWN THE SEAT. THIS IS NOT CORRECT. VAIKO CANNOT CONTEST IN FUTURE WITH AIADMK FOLD. jj is an egoistic woman who will show no respect to anyone.it is good that she has been routed.if there was no majority for the congress this woman would have played dirty politics in delhi.thank god she has no role to play in the centre.if the going continues then admk will have to do some soul searching before the assembly polls if not they may go the commie way.the bjp in defeat was graceful and accepted the peoples verdict unlike the admk which blames the evm and the election commission.

Its a clear mis-calculation by Amma
by Malarvizhi Kumar on May 17, 2009 11:45 AM  | Hide replies

If we watch the results closely, the margin of winning on both sides looks very very minor (except few places). DMDK (Vijayakanth Party) able to get more than 1 lac votes in many places. Even BJP did fairly well in some places. If amma would have dumped left & PMK, and gone allying along with either BJP or DMDK or with both, imagine what would have happened? PMK don't have strong hold in many places. I wonder is left still alive in TN!! If this (ADMK, BJP & DMDK) could have the combination, 32 or 33 seats might have gone to ADMK. Even leaders like Dayanithi, TR Baalu, P Chidambaram not able to register a comfortable win. Winning with 20k or 30k vote difference is nothing in lok sabha elections. Its purely Amma's mis-calculation & the greedy, useless PMK & Vaiko gave the dent to AIADMK ally.

Karunanidhi has won thanks to Vijayakant's DMDK. Otherwise DMK would have won only 9 or 10 seats. Vijayakanth and Jaya cannot form alliance since each thinks he/she is a mass leader. God should save Tamilnadu people!

Hi,

Its true ! ! ADMK wud hv done better than the results what we have. People started feeling that DMDK stood alone just to split the vote bank. Only Vijaykanth knows what made him to stand alone in this rally.
Your comment abt the cabinet ministers winning style - really pathetic... and the drama of Mr.Chidambaram is the top.

Vijayakant was pressurised by Congress and p[aid him money to contest without alliance. He is in a big Debt burden and is almost on the verge of selling his Engg College.
So he had no a;lternate than contesting alone.
Its Time he and Jaya patch up andd form a formidable alliance, and in the end he will inherit AIADMK.
As far as Chid's victory is concerned its work of Election Commission

What prevents ADMK from having a pact with DMDK is Jaya's ego, Vijayakanth is sure to put Jaya in shade and she is aware of it.

Vijayakanth is financially very sound hence this theory is just a rumour
