P.Chidambaram should never contest in elections
by Guest on May 17, 2009 01:46 PM  | Hide replies

It was Rajakannapan who had won the elections, but it was announced that PC won.Its the collecter who had done all the drama.some pressure from an important VIP and he declared PC won.
If it so then why elections held, they themselves can say PC won.

the same thing happened in Trichy due to some technical stag and only later it was declared the ADMK candidate win.
results were mixed there was a flash that cong is leading by 3000 votes and in final ADMK won.

I am surprised that it went unnoticed from the great guest.

I am not here to comment on how they won..but money and muscle may had impact in one or two seats but certainly not every where
So many schemes are in half way..many roads will get the new lease of life..Metro railways in chennai will start...Atleast 3-4 cabinent ministers from TN excluding chidambaram

i hope that 3-4 should not confined to MK family alone. DMK should throw its corrupted ministers Baalu,Raaja out and should give chances to new faces who were won elections a couple of time like AKS Vijayan ( Nagai) Sugavanam(Krishnagiri) etc.

corruption in election
by r vijay on May 17, 2009 01:44 PM  | Hide replies

It may be noted that many voters names were off the voting list in Tamilnadu. In my area, south madras, many people including myself reregistered names three times continuously. Each of the time, names were off the list. I have two election cards already and have been living in the same house for last 20 years. It is surprising to note that none of the names of the families belonging to christian, muslim or slum area (DMK vote bank) were off the list. Media should take up this case and help people of Tamilnadu. Just compare number of names in ration cards (who are eligible to vote) and number of people who were allowed to vote. Educated people are sick of the DMK govt, which is wasting all tax money to give gifts to its partymen.

Two things must be immediately takeup by election commission to stop corruption in election.
1. Ward wise counting must be kept secret and only final results must be declared. When this politians know that a ward has no support for them, most names in the ward go missing.

2. The article 49 O must be enforced confidentially. It must be also just another button on the ballot box. one cant exercise this in fear

Tamilnadu people disapprove Tiger story

After the demise of M. G. Ramachandran, the AIADMK founder and ex-CM of Tamilnadu, it was either DMK or AIADMK coming to power in the state, alternatively. Accordingly, this is supposed to be the turn of Jayalalita's AIADMK. But, this did not happen. It is a known fact that Sri Lanka's Tamil conflicts have a tremendous impact on Tamilnadu state politics. And several times, it is experienced that India's foreign policy in regard to Sri Lanka had been modified to satisfy the Indian Tamils aspiration. For long, Jayalalita was a strong opponent of LTTE. And she was the CM who declared LTTE activities in the state illegal and forced curtain of all LTTE activities in Tamilnadu territory despite strong oppositions from many quarters. Even she got her present ally Vaiko arrested some years ago under draconian anti-terrorist act for his open support to LTTE. Vaiko served jail term for about two years. Two months ago, she, after her candidates loss to DMK's in the Thirumangalam by-poll, had expressed her opposition to LTTE and criticized the DMK's pro-LTTE policies. But, what happened in-between, she went on announcing, on the eve of this general election, that she would support the central government which would promised the sending of Indian Army to trouble-turn island nation and ensure freedom of Eelam. Besides, she went on having alliance with a proclaimed pro-LTTE leader Vaiko. This vacillation and double standard did not go well with Tamilians and result every body had to see.

best observations by a oriya about the Tamilnadu results. The double standard of JJ caused debacle for her, she was utterly exposed when she repeatedly spoke about Tamil Eelam and sending Indian army for the same.

The intelligent voters understood this and gave the verdict. Congress lost many seats because
1) The singled out anti-congress campaign by fringe outfits.
2) In Kongu belt(Coimbatore,Tirupur,Erode) the KMP has eaten its votes where as in south its performance was good(Theni,Virdunager,Tirunelveli)
3) Congress surprise wins were from Arani, Kanchipuram due to alliance strength.
4) Mayiladuturai,Trichy loss should be shocking to congress (Mani shankar was played a big role in regaining the constitunecy assisted by CEC who is a co-caste fellow
5) BJP would have won a seat in TN (IE Pudukkottai- Thirunavukarasu) but deleted in delimitation exercise

I believe Srilankan Tamils is an issue with South Tamilnadu
by becker on May 17, 2009 12:46 PM  | Hide replies

DMK has won with better margins in South while Congress has managed to win with small margins in South. One thing is clear - Srilankan is an issue with people south of Tamilnadu and they trust DMK in this issue!. As we progress north, Srilankan Tamils is not much of an issue. DMK has won with smaller margins in north of Tamilnadu.

It shows that DMK which is following the issue with Tamils in LTTE is correct. it is the only party can provide something to the Tamils. this is the clear verdict for Tamils.

Clear RriggginnggOf Elections via Kangress appointed CEC
Everybody who was troublesome for Congress has lost:
Left Down 50%
Mayawati's BSP: Down 50% (Even though she was expected to do extremely well)

Jayalalitha: Last time 0 this time up, but not much at all, even though expected to do well
Laloo & Paswan(Had given Congress only 3 seats): Down 70%
Shiromani Akali Dal: Down 50%

Chiranjeevi: Expected to do very well in AP, crushed

On Other hand:
AP, Kangress expected to get smashed, sweeps.
Kangress needed to get a foothold in UP, Bihar, was unthinkable earlier but again, has happened
Kangress needed to crush BJP, whereever they had established a foothold: Orissa, BJD unexpectedly sweeps
In Bihar, Nitish gets so much success, it has upset balance between him & BJP. So he will start thinking of ditching them

UPA gets close to majority AND no one suspects that its rigged.
Kangressi Channels(NDTV, CNN-IBN) are exact in exit poll predictions, everyone else is wrong (Ha!)
Chief Election Commissioner has won it for Kangress. Just like the West-Indian umpire handing cricket series over to Australia.

NET RESULT, inspite of TERROR ATTACKS, PRICE-RISE, MINORITY APPEASEMENT, by putting rubberstamps in all important positions, Kangress has won...

Kangress actually winning in UP.
Huh???
Thats a no-brainer.. Thats RIGGINNGGGG

Indira started use of money power in Indian elections. That led to current rise of criminals & dalaals in our polity

Now Congress has moved ahead in the game by Rigging
This will one day lead to violence & civil war.

We are becoming another PAK.

Wait for next wave of terrorism & price-rise.
It is about to begin now..
