Like Railway Recruitment, now Postal Recruitment changes rules
by goldtiger on May 17, 2009 08:25 AM  | Hide replies

For the recently advertised Postal Recruitment for postmen (A non-officer labor intensive post) requiring Class 10/12 kind of qualification, for positions in MH, ads were issued by the postal department in English, not in the local language Marathi.

Further, knowledge of local language ie. Marathi which is a necessity for this jobs is just desirable and not compulsory.

As a result, 50 thousand applications from UP Bihar, while only 40 thousand from MH.

Rules are being subtly twisted to favor UP Bihaaris and against locals.

Local jobs for local people only. MNS should take up this issue and I am sure they will do so.

Suppose even if we buy your theory...tell me...are Marathis born only for railways jobs...why don't they get in other sectors like Petroleum, Aviation etc which are in hand of Marathis themselves..even there Biharis and UPietes are present in majority!
Baby learn to compete on merit instead of blabbing uselessly to cover your incompetence. Its not ur home but central government department where no rules can be twisted..which could othewise end in enquiry and dismissal of officers and ministers.

Mr Muruganswamy (pl read my aricle carefully),

We are not talking IIT exams or 10-round private sector job interviews for top positions.

We are talking here of MANUAL labor jobs (not requiring beyond grad level education).

Also, we are talking here about GOVERNMENT jobs, not private sector jobs.

Also we are talking her about LOCAL jobs to be performed here locally (dropping mail in MH).

Tell me what is the question of MERIT here. As for your comment on Marathis in general, Marathis are performing well on all sectors, more so in pvt sector jobs (I am one of them).

If MANUAL labor jobs to be performed LOCALLY do not go to locals, that is an injustice because what merit is involved in labor jobs ? Do you mean to say a manual laborer from UP Bihar has more merit than a manual laborer from MH or any other state of this country?

Mr Muruganswamy,

One more thing to add.....

In South India states, CENTRAL GOVERNMENT Class III/Class IV jobs, Hindi is not allowed as medum of language for writing exams, while local language is allowed, ensuring that locals get jobs at local places.

These rules have been subtly changed by UP Bihaari IAS babus, sitting in New Delhi, by including Maharashtra into a zone where Hindi language as a medium for writing papers are allowed.
As a result, we are seeing more applications from UP Bihar than from MH.

The above is definitely the case for Railway recruitment jobs.

by Sudarshan S on May 17, 2009 08:17 AM

Problem in India is the sau crore. Jub thuk we are sau crore, all these arguments will happen. HOw many roads, how many flyovers, how many buildings can you build if we keep growing like this. There is no solution until and unless each couple has only one child so that 2 will die and leave 1 and hence population can be halved in the next 40-50 years. Until then we will all be arguing and fighting for space, crowd, education seats etctetc

The president should take steps to ban such persons from standing as election candidates who have criminal back ground or have been involved in violation activities.

These ppl use power, misguidance & money to the poor n illeterate ppl and win to ruin the country and its sentiments.

by Flaviya on May 17, 2009 07:40 AM  | Hide replies

I really don't understand why people voted for party just in the name of Marathi language and Marathi manoos, infact this election is for national politics and there is no national issue. We should not blame politicians for issues we are facing, if we vote in the name of language or cast or relegion nobody will be benefited except some gun politicians. Think young people.

Citites are getting choked up because of galaxy of people from other states enter into Mumbai. There is clear suffocation for all Marathi(Local) people who have been staying here. This is reason why there is tension. I see this clearly as National issue. At the center level, effort should be taken to create or enhance new cities.

may be then you should try to find the ground reality and see why Marathi people in Mumbai voted for MNS. Don't make you opinions based on biased news on Hindi and English news channels.
