Bihar has been very intelligent in voting
by Calspadeaspade on May 17, 2009 10:36 PM

I am surprised they voted Lallu out of power though he could be an MLA They have observed who has done work like Meira Kumar who performed. Way to go. In this election people have been very intelligent in voting.

by ashish sinha on May 17, 2009 10:10 PM

atleast when compared to their counterparts in bengal, peope in bihar do not stick to underperformers. they let the rulers know that u'll perish if u do not perform.

Elite class does not accept the kind of langauge and the kind of casteist politics he practises.
Look at the language that he and his bovine wife used to describe Nitish Kumar. One should be generous in good work done by the rivals

railways profit did not increase in one year. a lot of ground work was required like upgrading engine capacity, line capacity, bogie capacity, workshops, signalling, training staff, etc. this groundwork was done by nitish kumar as railway minister. lalu just reaped the benefits and is claiming he turned around the railways. bullshit.

true mandate of biharis
by binod sah on May 17, 2009 09:59 PM  | Hide replies

that is the true and clear mandate. ihari people voted for development not for bjp or jdu. nitish kumar's team is working well. i couldn'n have seen that election was held in bihar without army, this time there were no army men on most of the booths but election was going smoothly, yes there are some places where naxlites threatened army was deployed. but this time it should be said that a hawaldar alone also managed the booth. that is the work of nitish kumar and people vote for that.

Can't help if other parties are unable to win elections. After all only if you are in power, scandals will happen in your term. poor Advani, when he is hardly ben inpower, how can scandals happen

the title is eulogising the leachers of Bihar
by arvind kr on May 17, 2009 09:32 PM

really, the title of this article is eulogising these leachers of Bihar.
These politicians ,Lallo ,Paswan & co. would had had been kicked long ago.
They simply propagated casteism, banswad & gundaism in this land of Budhdha and Mahavir and nothing else.
Thank god, this time the maturity of Bihari voters is again showing the way to the country.Gundaism, casteism, communalism & Vamshawad (rule of Family) ,all four nuisances of Indian politics have comletely been rejected by the voters of Bihar. It didn`t matter to them even while rejecting the two Gunda elements of even Nitish`s party JD(U)-Prabhu nath & Munna shukla. They didn`t discriminate at all- a gunda means gunda.Kash U.P ,our big brother would had followed this trend
Three cheers

title is negative
by Tom on May 17, 2009 09:12 PM

The title is so negative. Rediff should grow up. It seems media had fallen in love with Lalu and Paswan. And now they are going to miss them!

What ever change has happened in Bihar is so positive.

Laloo and Paswan
by SUDHAKARAN NEDUMPILLIL on May 17, 2009 08:43 PM

Can these GENTLEMEN be sit out of power any time? They will be mad just sitting out from the ministry. In fact the GOD has sent them to the earth and asked them to rule the people, make the people fool always, make BJP out of power at any cost, etc etc. We should honor them well and be awarded with Bharat Ratna. In future, they should live in the hearts of the people by just putting their names in books starting from primary class.
