Secularism is the very Ethos of India
by Argumentative Indian on May 17, 2009 01:47 AM  | Hide replies

For over five thousand years, Bharat, Hindustan, India, call her what you may has been secular.
Our kings, emperors, noblemen, sadhus, thinkers have always supported divergence of thought.
Ashoka spread Buddhism.
Akbar, a muslim ruler, respected Hindus, married a Hindu woman and agreed to respect her religion after marraige!
The MNS & SRS have forgotten, that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj reminded the whole world once again, that a defeated enemy, is to be treated with dignity, he insisted that the women and children of the vanquished be treated with kindness and respect and unnecessary killing of enemy soldiers be avoided.
Ramakrishna Parmahansa said, all paths lead to the almighty.

I think the terrorists (who, I can foresee from the state of affairs across the border, will be destroyed shortly now) attack pur people, the body of India.

The communalists on the other hand attack the very idea of India.

The people of India, the inheritors and custodians of this five thousand year legacy have spoken today.

Whats wrong while all the parties vie for minority vote, BJP try to unite h1ndu fragmented community.... Every party is communal... To talk openly on yadav muzlim vote banks not communal?

Its rubbish and pseudo secular to say BJP alone is communal.

While you analyse the results, this time one will notice that its state politics played for loksabha. Best example is BJP ruled states done well.

The results are very surprising. There is definitely something fishy here. Just a couple of weeks before the election, there was an article in the US , where I am staying , on how Mayawati would be dangerous for the US interests and lo! Mayawati is conveniently in no position to form a government after the elections. Co-incidence ?I dont think so. With Pakistan being in the situation that it is in, the US would not have wanted the indian government to end up in the hands of unpredictable/unstable politicians like Mayavati, Jayalalitha and their cold war arch enemies - the communists.I would not be too suprised if the The results have been tampered with by a certain US governmental agency to prevent the left/Mayavati from forming the government(again US was afraid of the communists coming to power).

World over incumbent governments have been electoral victims of the biggest global recession since the great depression. Here in India, the incumbent posts the best results in 25 years. Surprise! Surprise! A sign of the maturity of indian democracy ? Sure proof of the Indian electorate's yearning for stability? I dont think so.Not a single pollster predicted this outcome before the elections. Especially interesting are the sudden upturns in the the fortunes of the congress in AP and DMK in Tamil Nadu. Just a couple of days before the elections all the news media predicted a big victory for Jayalalitha in TN and a close fight for YSR in AP. Today we learn that they have won a la

Your comment is not at all surprising Mr. Madhu...now a days this is a common one..one of my neighbour's son failed in an exam and the neighbour said the same reason, US played a game to defeat his son...Are you mad u moron.? Going to US, making lot of money, didn't bother to cast your vote and then saying these comments..The main opposition BJP, CPM and other parties accepted their defeat with grace respecting peoples verdict...then, whtat's your problem..?

LOL that was a great analysis :-)

on the flip side, a BJP govt would have been the best bet for the U.S the way the BJP fell over backwards to lick american boots during the afghan war.

and fyi, the recession has not hit india with as much severity as it has hit other parts of the world. so that was not an issue.

and btw, predictions always go haywire in indian elections as happened in 2004.

so dont worry too much about these things LOL :-)

Campaign for RE-Election with ballot paper, not rigged machines
by D S on May 17, 2009 12:16 AM  | Hide replies

Campaign for nation wide RE-Election with ballot paper.

WHy not go for PAPER ballot counted right before the candiates in their constituency.

Everything done right before the candiates and NO CHAWLA PEOPLE RIGGING election machines.

After crime and murder by money-greed mafia.

A New way to rule india by Forgery and Fraud by crime-murder-money mafia has emerged.

EVM rigged >otherwise, third front can still come to power

100% RIGGED,
It is congress and BJP nexus, otherwise, third front can still come to power with BJP support.

Advani jumped to congratulate MMS so BJP does not support Third front candiate in any way.

If Delhi has become center for mafia criminals from all over India then move Election Commission office to Andaman and Nicobar without Chawla types.
