Democracy won
by Raj Adhikari on May 16, 2009 11:52 AM

No matter which party is winning, the ultimate winner is our democratic system. That is what keeps India above all these dictator and communist countries. Congress and BJP have same policies so it does not matter who is at the helm. Dr. Singh is the best leader to lead us during this global turmoil and Indians have said it loudly and clearly.

Plea to Congress/Secular party Pls do not divide nation further
by Balaraman on May 16, 2009 11:46 AM  | Hide replies

On religion language north-south basis
Latest in the series of controversies centred on the Congress party’s fixation with Muslim grievances is the data collection exercise involving the Indian Armed Forces.
It is irrelevant and mischievous to mention about caste-based divisions in the Army during the British rule.
Congress leaders not only divided the country politically but also militarily. The military officers and men of pre-independence India , belonging to all communities fought the WWII together under the British.

Pakistan got a ready-made army at its birth. When Indian Muslims got Pakistan they also got a Muslim army carved out of the undivided Indian Army. This army produced Pakistani generals and officers who fought wars with India — the first full scale war being in 1965. This is history in living memory.

The Congress party having divided and ruled the country for decades is continuing with its dangerous game and monstrous thinking of doing a head count for the Army now.

defeat of LDF
by vijayan K on May 16, 2009 11:42 AM

They deserve it. There is no coordination between party and the ruling coalition. They had always fought like cat and dog.

What was their 19 MPS done in Parliament for Kerala?

This is a shock treatment for them.

Those days are gone.

At the outset let me tell you that I have no special affinity to any political party, but prefer to like the people all parties based on their qualities. There was a time when I admired many of the Communist leaders, but all respect to the party gone during the past 2-3 years. They have done nothing for the State and all good projects are in a stand still. Eventually they paid the price for their wrong doings.

Great!
by Sakuni Sebastian on May 16, 2009 11:22 AM

I always wondered why people voted for the left in Kerala. Only to fight bitterly with congress and then to eventually support them after the election. Its much better to send congress MPs in the first place. We need POLITICAL STABILITY in india! Great result. My only concern is that the UDF had a horrible candidate list this time around. Except for Sashi Tharoor!
