first small parties now small fronts
by Mufaddal Khandwala on May 15, 2009 03:36 PM

earlier we had 2 parties Congress and Jansangh. then came janta dal then the parties kept breaking and breaking. then in past 2 elections we saw NDA and UPA. A thought that now on the national political scene we will see at least 2 people contesting but now its 3rd fron and again 4th front. if it goes on like this then some day we may see that the topmost party or front is getting 50 seats and in that some 20 parties are there and then the fronts are forming alliances. I mean till what extent will these parties keep on dividing and still claim their power in the center and states. the election commission and supreme court should streamline the recognition of new parties

For this kind of Hung parliament
by Mahesh on May 15, 2009 03:30 PM  | Hide replies

Only the voters of India has to be blamed. If a voter of India cannot differentiate a State assembly and Lok sabha elections. If a U.P. voter cannot see the difference between Congress and BJP with that of BSP and SP only such a kind of verdict will come. It's high time that Cong. and BJP unites to form the govt. if not this time, atleast next time.

Of course people can differentiate. There are 200 parties. Everyone is very fixed on which party to vote. If I am UP Muslim, I will vote for SP. If I am Dalit, I will vote for BSP.

Lok sabha or state assembly is not the issue. My religion, caste, region, decides which way I vote. I do not care whether the performance of the party is good or bad and whether they do something good for me or not.

An Indian voter's wish
by Mahesh on May 15, 2009 03:13 PM

What President must do is the President of India must order an Live telecast in the Indian parliament. Invite all the parties and ask them to take postions with UPA and NDA. What are all the demands of other parties to join? Also seek an opinion if a third front is possible. And there should be no underground dealings. All plain and transparent.

Front and Back
by knowmybaap on May 15, 2009 03:09 PM

These fronts are to bang the people 'front & Back. These are 100% corrupted political parties and very much competitive with traditional parties. I don't understand where all the pure communists are gone.

INspire cadres with patriotic slogans
by Govind Lal on May 15, 2009 03:06 PM  | Hide replies

CPM do have a feeling that Constitution of India is not applicable to them. They go by the decisions of politburo. That is not acceptable. First of all they should declare their attachment to the Constitution. Let them declare "COUNTRY FIRST". Inspire the cadres with patriotic slogans. Not with egoistic slogans.
It seems CPM is controlled by mafias. It is true in Kerala. The Secretary of CPM is Kerala is fighting against the Judiciary. The High Court ordered a CBI enquiry in a 'deal'. CBI submitted a report to the court. CPM wants to remove the name of Mr. Piarayi from the accused list. They play foul game to achieve their demand. Why not they allow Mr.Pinarayi to face the court and get himself acquitted? CPM can not answer all questions in future.
The present approach will render them disabled to fight corruption.

Congress in Kerala knows very well that there is no substance in the case called Lavalin. But hey are hoping to discredit the formidable state secretary of the CPM and to tie him down to a corruption case which will take a quarter century to conclude. It is this delay factor and the sheer conspiracy behind it that has apparently prompted CPM to stonewall Pinarayi. You first make your judicial system efficient and then ask people to face it to prove ignorance. By the by, who made corruption charges against Pinarayee ? CBI is it not? The very name is nauseating.

by subrata banerjee on May 15, 2009 03:04 PM  | Hide replies

united, stregentthy (both economically and socially) India is possible, only when, true SIRDER like NETAZI SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE is again found in our country. We have been experiencing the divided india because of our so called (self proclaimed, and who was defeated while contesting President post in the first ALL INDIA CONGRESS CONFERENCE AND RAN TO BAPUJI WITH RESIGNATION LETTER) great leader THE GREAT PHILOSOPHER (ALWAYS TRIED FOR NOBEL FOR PEACE AND NEVER SUCCEED), POLITICIAN SARBASREEE JAWHARALAL NEHRU AND HIS SUCCESSORS.

Hello Lefties
by Mahesh on May 15, 2009 03:00 PM

You people have can't win more than 30 seats. And you expect a national party to support. But still you will say Non-Congress, Non-BJP goverment. Can you openly decalare that Third front is an alternative to Congress and BJP and therefore if we do not cross 272 we all third fronts will sit in the opposition. Can you declare that we do not want Congress to support third front? If not so then what do you mean by non-congress. Non-congress =NO CONGRESS and it can't be Non-congress =congress support. BJP is not untouchable. It is the the CPI and CPM are untouchables.Add RJD,SP and LJP to that.
